Mogwai strolls into the Rabite's Promise, tired and beat. She sees a familiar face and sits down at Tealion's table "I never thought finding trouble would be so difficult... hey, been up to anything fun?"

Tealion looks up from his beverage and at Mogwai. "Fun? Wouldn't say that exactly.."

Mogwai leans on one arm, smiling interestedly at her koopa companion "Well, interesting at least. Things have really seemed to quiet down lately... as if all the villains have decided to hide in the wake of that fortress."

Tealion downs a gulp of ale, tossing the empty mug over his shoulder. " Maybe, that kind can be skittish about every little thing."

Mogwai winces as the mug bounces off the floor "Well... one would hope villains wouldn't be too skittish..." she starts before realizing what she's implying "Err... perhaps I should mention why I'm looking for trouble."

Tealion nods. " It's a good hobby of mine, but I'm wondering why you of all people are doing it."

Mogwai nods back "Well, I'm trying to make an information network to inform adventurers of trouble so they can swoop in and hopefully avert any more disasters. Only problem is... without any minor nuisances popping up to keep the network in use, nobody will even know it's there, and the adventurers of the world may lose their edge..."

After checking on her much smaller library at Finn's house, Twilight Sparkle eases her way in through the front door of the cafe, horn glowing dimly as she reads and wings twitching against her sides.

Tealion chuckles, another mug of ale appearing in his hand. "An adventurer doesn't need anything to get them on their feet. They seek out the adventure, only the novices let teh adventure come to them."

"We'll have to agree to disagree on that point. A lone adventurer cannot be everywhere at once. How many villains could have been stopped much sooner if only word could have gotten out about their atrocities? How many heroes have tried to combat evil, and failed due to a lack of allies? Adventuring is about more than proving one's worth. There's lives at stake." Mogwaa looks up and notices Twilight entering, beckoning her over "Hey, maybe you can help us with a problem."

Mogwai's explanation has Twilight tilting her head slightly as she takes a seat nearby. "Sure, you. What do you need my help with?"

Mogwai shyly admits "Well, by us I mean me. And by problem I mean a lack of a problem. I'm looking for quests for heroes to go on... but things seem rather peaceful in the world at the moment. Heard any good rumors, or have an idea of where to look?"

Twilight Sparkle looks down for a moment, somewhat uncertain, before nodding slowly. "Well... I'm not sure if this will help much with that, but I'm still looking for a good place to establish my own kingdom here. And I've got an idea of the type of environment for it."

Mogwai ponders this "Well... I know back in Vana'diel sometimes folks had more mundane tasks for adventurers... that could work I suppose. I'm guessing you're looking for more than a source of cheap labor?"

Twilight Sparkle smiles widely, extending her wings for added balance as she stands on her hind legs to hug her friend. "If you're up for it, then certainly. I'll be more than happy to pay whatever price you ask, since - after all - you're a good friend I'd trust with my life if needed.

Mogwai says 'Well, it's not the payment I'm worried about. Adventurers are drawn to danger like moths to a flame. I should probably mention this questing isn't for me. I'm trying to nurture new heroes.'

"Oh. Well, I'm more than willing to help you out with that, you. To be honest, I kind of miss going on adventures with you, and that'll be a way to show I'm more than just a useless Princess." Twilight falls back onto all fours, though her wings remain extended as a confident expression settles on her face. "Count me in."

Mogwai sighs "Count you in for what though... No evil gods running rampant, no mad mages turning forbidding pages... just peace and quiet, which I fear is the calm before the storm."

"Then that should give us plenty of time to nurture those new heroes who can be counted on to face that storm with courage." Twilight Sparkle reaches out with one foreleg to reassure her friend.
Twilight says 'Mogwai, you've got me by your side for this.'

Mogwai nods "That's the plan anyway. But they need training, and I want to get them in the habit of sharing information, but there's no information to share... although... if I can't find a problem, why not make a problem instead?"

"Hm..." Thoughtfully, Twilight Sparkle turns her extended forehoof back towards her face, tapping her chin with it. "Perhaps I could provide the 'villain' and the problem that's needed for our first goal?"

Mogwai nods "Well, we'll have to be careful to keep everyone safe, while making it seem actually dangerous. Maybe not confront them directly?"

"That'd be the best way to go around it." Nodding in agreement, Twilight Sparkle sits down again, folding her wings closed. "So now all that's left is to work out a plan for accomplishing it in a way that won't put them at risk of being hurt."

Mogwai tilts her head to one side, tapping her chin thoughtfully "Well... there is always the old classic. Villain has stolen the magic mcguffin and hidden it in their dungeon lair?"

"Well, the Element of Magic suddenly disappearing might be stretching it a bit, but that's going to provide the challenge for them. And I'll be sure to keep from using any spells that can hurt them while I act as the villain..." Twilight Sparkle levitates a piece of paper out of one saddlebag, setting it down in front of Mogwai.

Tealion perks up. " Oi. You're asking a purple princess to be a villain when you've got a perfectly good pirate right here?" He asks. " No offence, it's just that you aren't all that intimidatin'"

Mogwai graciously accepts the paper and begins jotting down plans "Well, ideally we'll have you avoid a direct confrontation at all, relying on traps and minions instead. We don't necessarily want to run the risk of killing them, we're not REAL villains, and we certainly don't want you to get killed. I'm worried a situation might result where either someone needs to die,or you'd have to break character."

"That's actually a valid point, Mogwai..." Twilight Sparkle turns towards Tealion with a calm expression, tilting her head slightly. "So we'll need to work in such a way that lethal force isn't needed for either end, as a method of getting them prepared for those without that kind of restraint, right?"

Tealion slumps in his chair. " Eh. I suppose you're right."

Mogwai nods to both her friends "That said, I've no intention of holding their hand. I'll try and pick someplace at least moderately dangerous, and if they fall to the natural dangers... well, they likely wouldn't have gone far anyway."

Tealion swigs some ale. " Brutal, but effective. I like it."

"Of course." Twilight Sparkle flicks one ear absently, with her tail twitching a few seconds later. "While we are trying to get them to be more comfortable with fighting against dangers like that, it would only defeat our original intent if we coddled them the entire time. So, minimal intervention on our part is going to have to be necessary, where actually fighting is concerned."

Mogwai says 'I'm thinking Magmoor Caverns might work for a dungeon. It's dangerous enough to seem like an actual place someone would hide something. Now, what should be the mcguffin... I don't suppose anyone has something that looks important?'

Tealion nicks the Element of Magic off of Twilight's head. "This looks important enough."

Having her Elemental crown torn from right behind her horn bewilders Twilight Sparkle for a bit, before earning a reluctant sigh. "Wh- Well... As long as none of the other Elements of Harmony are used for this, it SHOULD be fine..."

Mogwai accepts the big crown thingy "Thanks, both of you. For discussion if nothing else. Hopefully this goes well. I'll put together a few smaller quests as well for the newer adventurers. Lost cat, message delivery, crap like that. Wish me luck ok?"

Tealion smiles and leans back in his chair, swigging the mug of ale. "Anytime, just keep outta trouble until you need it."
