Arc: AMAN

It's late afternoon in Truce when an old face walks through the square again. A moogle in a yellow dress, carrying a rolled up blueprint and a small stack of fliers "Should be about time for adventurers here... wonder if they can help." She casts an eye over the people gathered in the square.

Urik pulled off his hood to look around. The knight in black armor slowly walked through the town of Truce as he tried to find something worth his while. It had been awhile since he had heard any word of Strahd from anyone, and he's grown rather used to the fact that he was in an entirely new place. As he approached the town square, a deep black raven with shiny feathers circled over his head before perching on a nearby lightpost.

"Whaddya mean you don't carry cola here!" The shout echoes out from a small shop a little ways off down the west road. A moment later a loud CRASH echoed out from the store, followed by Franky getting thrown out by an angry moogle. He tumbles across the way before smashing into a lightpost and slumping to the ground. "Man, I can't find any cola around here..." He snorts and pushes his sunglasses back up onto his face.

Tealion was on one of the benches surrounding the square's fountain, rocking back and forth on the back of his shell, watching the clouds roll by, and trying to get the smell of ocean water out of his nose. With a huff of frustration, he took his hat and tilted it down, shading his eyes from the sun.

Mogwai notices nobody she recognizes, but plenty of noticeable characters regardless. "Right then, game face time. Smile and perform, it's showtime," she thought to herself. Heading up to the fountain she gave a friendly wave as the area appeared to dim... except around her "Attention everyone! I'm looking to build a tavern. A special one which caters to adventurers abroad. A place where you can drink, rest, and be well prepared for wherever the road takes you. All I ask in return is that you help make it a reality. Is there anyone interested?"

Tealion looked up at the moogle above him, shifting the brim of his hat out of the way of his eyes. "Don't we already have one of those?" He asked. Hurrn squawked as the mostly naked man was thrown into the lamp post he was resting on and immediately flew into the air and began circling him. Urik ran up when he heard the commotion. "And what have you found here Hurrn?" The raven gave out a few clicks and landed on his shoulder. Urik himself extended his hand to the man on the ground. "Do you need some help, sir? Or... some clothing?"

Franky sits up, rubbing his head. "Nah, I'm fine. THanks, though." He shakes his head and wipes his metal nose as he watches Mogwai speak. "Building a tavern, huh? I bet they could get me some cola." He stands up and makes his way over to the little moogle before posing with his arms above his head, twisted to make both of the stars look like a single one and leaning slightly to the left. "You wanna make a tavern, huh? Well, I'm having a good week, so how 'bout we make a SUPER tavern?"

"Excellent question sir," Mogwai says, the classic line of a salesman trying to quickly come up with something, when Franky comes up "Ah, see, he gets the idea! We already have a tavern as a place to drink. I envision a place where adventurers meet their peers and prepare for grand adventures like in the tales of old. Someplace a bit livelier than a simple fountain." Her ear twitches as she recalls a small comment she might be able to leverage on "And of course, we would cater to the eclectic tastes of our worldly patrons."

"That sounds like a SUPER place to be. Are you gonna serve cola there?" Franky peers over the top of his sunglasses at the little moogle.

Tealion rolls over onto his front side, looking up at the moogle of mystery. "Does the job pay?"

"An interesting endeavor to say the least," Urik said, turning his attention to the moogle. "I myself have often found it difficult to gain allies in times of great need. Perhaps with such a place it would help us in being able to find them. Or at least know where to send word to."

Mogwai grins emphatically at Urik "That is precisely why I've decided to start this. I'm somewhat of an adventurer myself, but lately I realized I cannot solve everything on my own. So, why not gather adventurers from far and wide to work together? As for payment... I'll certainly be able to pay you once the tavern is operational. At the very least, you can expect free services, within reason of course. I've never heard of cola... so of course we need to stock it. Anyway, the specifics of what I need help with are here."

Mogwai unfurls the blueprint she's carrying... or what looked like a blueprint anyway. It's drawn in crayon, with childish depictions of a pile of wood, a stick figure with a saw, another stick figure with a beer glass, and a stick figure with a dress "I just need to secure a source of lumber, a carpenter to build it, a barkeep, and a waitress... to start with. The rest will be added as it can be afforded."

Franky gapes at the crayon blueprints. "Uhh... That thing there isn't gonna help at all. Tell ya what," He strikes the same pose as before, "I'll help you make some SUPER blueprints! Sound good?" He grins down at Mogwai.

" Free services? You've got my attention." Tealion said, standing up on the bench to get a good look at the blueprints. " I've got a good idea for lumber, we've got to hope it's dry, though."

Urik frowns as he views the 'blueprints.' He could have sworn he could hear Hurrn chuckle. "You might want to get an official planner for the tavern as well. I'm not architect, but I can tell you you're not going to get very far with that." He crosses his arms. "I'm not sure how much help I can be, but until I heard of some cause that needs me, you have my aid."

Mogwai was hurt. She worked very hard on that! However, she hides it well "It was mostly to keep track of what I needed. Big guy... I'm guessing you're an architect? I have an idea of how I want it to look... but I suppose real blueprints are better. My biggest concern was the lumber actually... so I'm glad that's been brought up." She turns to Tealion "How wet would that be? I might have forgotten to mention it won't be built in Truce. It may very well dry by the time we get there."

Tealion scratches his chin. "Maybe.. It might be silly, but what if we pulled up a sunken ship?" He asked, bringing his idea forth. "Hey, don't feel bad. This is a good rough draft." Franky takes the blueprints and studies them closely. "Building design isn't quite my speed, but I can work with this. When are you planning on starting construction?"

Mogwai looks just shy of weeping tears of joy "That... that's perfect! I'm sure adventurers will love a place with such history. Please let it be a pirate or ghost ship... or a pirate ghost ship. Once we salvage enough wood we should be able to begin construction shortly after..." she pauses as she realizes a catch in the plan "Wait... how are we going to raise a sunken ship?"

Tealion scratches his cheek again. "It's a... Thought in progress." "Wait, we're doing a ship now?" Franky grins. "SUPER! I can fix up a ship in no time. But we should probably find the ship that we want to raise first." Urik raises an eyebrow. "I don't know of anyone who has access to either the ways to raise a ship, not the ability to detect them."

Mogwai ponders this for a bit "I imagine there's likely a sunken ship or two in the El Nido Triangle, there's a history of people going missing there. Plus the Monetoli corporation is sponsoring a salvage divers there."

"Alright, then we should go there." Franky pushes his sunglasses back up on his face. "Where is it, anyway?" Tealion smiles and nods. "I know the exact ship we should use," He says, "Problem is getting it on the surface and while the divers are... Diving."

"I've never been one for sailing." Urik said. The knight ended up taking a seat on a near the others before he continued the conversation. "I've helped with some heavy labor before. Nothing so... aquius." "Getting there is easy," said Mogwai "Just sail south from Wutai. We'll need an alternate way out, since the currents prevent conventional ships from leaving. Now as for raising it..." she thinks for a moment before starting to say something "What if we-- No wait, that's the dumbest idea ever. Although... if we disassemble it, shouldn't the wood float?"

Franky shakes his head. "Nope, If it's been down there a long time then the wood is going to be completely waterlogged. If the hull is in good enough shape, we could try pumping air into it. 'Course, that could break something if it's stuck in the ground to well..."

Tealion thinks about that for a moment. "No.. Wouldn't float persay, wood's soaking wet and heavy with salt water. But, taking the ship apart would make it easier to get to the surface."

Urik nods. "I'm willing to help reconstruct it once you all get it to the surface. Hopefully it will be in tact enough for it to be used further. Though, wouldn't it be easier to just construct a tavern in the shape of a ship using new materials?"

Mogwai makes a show of being disappointed "Aww, but that wouldn't be near as fun. And then I'd have to pay the lumberjack... though I suppose I'm doing that anyway in a way. Anyway... let's see... raft down to the triangle, borrow some diving suits, carve up a ship, and recall with the pieces before the salvagers notice we ran with a huge pile of scrap. Sound like a plan?"

"I'm still shaky on the whole carving the ship up part and then putting it back together, but ok. I am a ship breaker, so this should go pretty easy for me." Franky nods.

"A plan if I've ever seen one." Tealion said, nodding. "If the ship I'm thinking of is still around, it'll be a big job, but well worth it."

Cue an epic montage of traveling... maybe half an hour, tops, to the beaches of Wutai where they lash some large pieces of driftwood together (Ironically from crashed rafts) and sail south, arriving in the El Nido Triangle just in time for some ominous storm clouds to roll in.

Franky frowns up at the storm clouds. "I'm no navigator, but that doesn't look pretty. We'd better work fast." He turns to the little turtle thing. "Hey, you, uhhh... Where is this boat?"

Tealion keeps his eyes towards the storm clouds "Know exactly where it is, give or take a few yards." He said, "Should reach it before the storm comes in." Franky exhales explosively. "Alright, we should be fine once we get below the waves anyway. Raft'll probably get trashed." He whistles as he rows the raft a bit. "Reminds me of Aqua Lagoona, only wimpy." Mogwai nods to Teal and points off to an approaching ship "First things first, we should talk to one of the diving crews. We can claim we want work helping with the salvage... they get enough freelance work, we should blend in." She starts to wave to the divers.

Tealion looks up at the divers, suddenly keeping the brim of his hat over his eyes. "Yeah, blend in, sure."

The divers look suspiciously at the crew as Mogwai makes introductions "We're a band of intrepid adventurers in need of coin. We heard you're always looking for brave scavengers to survive the vile fiends that lurk below. So, can we borrow some diving equipment and get to work before the storm rolls in?" The divers talk amongst themselves before agreeing "Ok... but this land is property of Mr. Monotoli. No stealing." They pull their boat up alongside the raft, and prepare three diving suits with air hoses attached to the ship "Tug on the cable three times if you're in danger."

"Sure, sure." Franky jumps off as soon as the diving suit is secured on him and begins making his way to the seabed.

Tealion secures his suit to his body, as much as he could with his shell, anyway, and dives for the seafloor. Mogwai dons her suit and follows down after the rest, nodding to Tealion as she hits the bottom "Ok, lead the way." she says, her voice fairly muffled by the water between them. Tealion takes a look around before he sees a shape he recognizes. He leads the trio off in that direction, more bouncing off the seabed than walking due to his short legs.

Franky swims over towards the shape as soon as he figures out where the group is going and starts to mentally survey it. Mogwai bounds off after Tealion, skipping across the seafloor in long hops because why not?

Tealion takes a moment to be sure this is what he's looking for, and nods before starting to walk around the ship. Franky swims around the ship, examining the hull and determining the best places to cut for ease of reassembly. Tealion takes a moment to be sure this is what he's looking for, and nods before starting to walk around the ship. Mogwai swims around the fallen ship, whistling at it "Still in good quality, all things considered." The wood was a little warped in places, and the nails were mostly rust (and yet still held, confound them!), but with the right touch it'd look great for a seedy atmosphere.

Franky gestures at the ship and makes a cutting motion. Evidently he is wondering how they are planning to cut the ship. Tealion looks up at Franky, and figures he's had that figured out. With a crack of his knuckles, he rears back and gives a panel of wood a good, strong punch.

Mogwai thrusts a paw up into the air and summons an axe of moonlight to try and use. Not being her customary light weapons, she clearly has trouble wielding it.

Franky facepalms at his companions' lack of finesse, then swims over to a place just beside the keel. He pulls the skin off of his right hand, revealing a sturdy, mechanical hand. He then rears back and smashes the spot near the keel, sending cracks running along the underside of the boat.

Tealion continues his punching match with the ship, knocking bits and pieces of the hull off and away. Mogwai lets the axe fall, since it's clearly not helping. It vanishes as soon as it leaves her hand. "Hmm... I may have something a bit more precise. Never tried it on anything this big though... but it might help." She pulls out a crystal and channels wind mana through it, the crystal glowing a bright green. As she does so, she imagines the cracks running deeper as full splits in the ship. A flurry of bubbles emanates from the crystal and swipes through the cracks.

Franky watches, impressed, as the cracks glow green and split the hill in half lengthwise. He gives the moogle a thumbs up before moving down into the gap to study where the ship should be broken next, finally marking the spot with another punch.

Tealion looks up at how Mogwai is dealing with the massive wreckage and nods in approval before swimming up to the more decorative bits, starting to wrench them off the ship as cleanly as he can manage.

Mogwai repeats the process with the new cracks. It was supposed to summon blades of wind to aid in synthesizing items by chopping up vegetables, cutting patterns in leather... or cutting logs into lumber. The bubbles seemed to dull the blades somewhat, but doing small sections at a time appeared to work.

Franky nods in approval and swims over to the other side of the ship and parks a spot roughly even with the other spot he marked.

Mogwai performs one last act of synthesis, and notes the groaning of wood as the ship splits into quarters, falling away from each other and, thankfully, not towards the group. Tealion watches the ship break apart, smiling at the quick progress as he swims over to break down one of the quarters.

Franky surveys the wrecked ship and finally nods. He grabs one of the pieces and tries to kick up towards the surface, though he doesnt make much progress. He finally lets go and looks around at the wreckage for a bit, trying to think of another way to get the stuff to the surface.

Mogwai ponders this. She didn't quite have any abilities or tools to make things more bouyant, nor any method to teleport from underwater. Tealion pondered this for a moment before getting an idea. He swam under one of the quarters he hasn't punched and reached for the little pouch at his waist... Only to realize he secured it under his suit.

Franky shrugs and begins fumbling around with his suit, eventually managing to get the lower portion off. He hands it to Mogwai before swimming down under the piece that Tealion is under and shooing him away. He then grabs the bottom of the piece and inflates his butt to comical proportions before blasting up towards the surface with the Cou de Burst.

Mogwai just looks blankly at what happened for a few seconds before saying "...wat." Tealion blinked, watching Franky do his magic. "Humans are strange."

Franky breaks the surface and flies a short ways up into the air before the Cou de Burst runs out. He adjusts his landing so that he comes down just off the coast of one of the nearby islands. After resting for a minute, he heads back down into the depths to find the rest of the crew and bring the next piece up.

Tealion blinked again, simply taking a seat and watching the show.

Mogwai starts trying to push one of the pieces to help. It's not very effective. Franky repeats the process twice more before he swims down and motions for the others to follow him to the island where he left the other pieces at. Mogwai swims up topside and follows Franky to the beach "Oh marvelous, this should work well. What about the final piece?" Tealion swims for the surface and walks up onto the beach, taking his diving helmet off and starting to take off his suit. "Here's a thought, maybe make freeze some water under it to float that bit to the surface?"

Franky exhales explosively. "Whew, that was intense." He sits down on a nearby rock and pulls off the diving helmet, revealing that his pompadour is now limp and listless. "I'd love to get the last piece, but I'm all out of cola. I can't use the Cou de Burst anymore until I get some."

Mogwai hmms "We should probably try the koopa's plan for the last piece. I don't know where we'd get any cola, least of all fast. And I'm wary of leaving our excavation alone for too long."

Franky hums and scratches his three pronged chin. "That might work, if we can get the buoyancy right..."

Tealion had his suit off and was digging through the pouch around his shell. He fished out a small blue rock, easily recognized as a bit of Ice Materia, and started to put hsi diving suit back on.

Franky raises an eyebrow as the turtle pulled out the rock. "I don't see how rocks are going to help any here."

"You'll see," Tealion said as he dived back for the last piece. With the materia in hand, he clapped his hands together, activating the ice magic within. The ocean around him began to freeze slowly, allowing Tealion enough time to escape the slow freeze.

"Well I'll be dammed, you did it. What is that, some kinda Devil Fruit power of yours?" Franky squints at Tealion. Tealion rode the ice chuck and chunk of hull to the surface. "Just practice with what any other landlubber can get a hold of. Takes you far."

Mogwai takes off her diving suit and looks off to the salvage boat, which is starting to arm the harpoon gun and aim it "Well, good that we've got the pieces up, but I think they've realized we're just taking the scrap. Hold on a sec." She takes out a ring with 8 crystals around the edge. Mogwai focuses and the crystals light up in varying degrees, red and orange being the brightest as they fluctuate. Finally they steady and she sets the device down. "Hold on tight!"

A harpoon is shot at them as what appears to be a red whirlpool into nothingness appears beneath them. Red light fills the air, and the group is suddenly somewhere else. A pathway of crystal hangs suspended in a deep void. The harpoon manages to miss the group and drop out of sight off the edge... then continues on from further up, streaking across the void like a shooting star. "That is going to really suck when it hits someone..." muses Mogwai.

Franky's sunglasses pop off as he gazes around at the new space. "What... How... What kind of devil fruit do you even have anyway?" He retrieves his sunglasses and puts them back on.

Tealion shrugs, looking around the place. "I stopped questioning this sort of thing a while ago.." He looked over at Mogwai. "But where over the high seas are we?" "We're nowhere." says Mogwai "Think of it as a slow teleport, courtesy of magic artifacts and mana channeling. We're between places right now. We just need to go over..." she scans the landscape before pointing to the distance. "There, that little dip. Thank goodness they're down stairs this time. It will take us to the destination I chose... if I coded it right."

Tealion blinked twice. "And if you didn't..?"

"Well, that made no sense. Whatever, if it works it works." Franky puts the covering back on his right hand and starts pushing one quarter of the ship towards the dip in the distance. "I guess I'm going to have to build something to make more cola while I'm here."

Mogwai shrugs "We wind up somewhere else. Never in a wall or above ground, that I've seen. So we should be fine. I swear... when this is done, I am going to build a cola brewery if you need it. And something nice for you too koopa dude. Tealion gives Mogwai a friendly, if firm, slug on the arm. "Heck, you give me all the ale and rum I can drink... You'd go out of business!" He broke into laughter at the thought of that. "But seriously, think about that."

The group sets forth across the crystal paths, Mogwai and Tealion each handling a piece on their own while Franky pushes a piece on his own. Thankfully nothing tries to stop them on their route. Each piece glows with a white light and vanishes when pushed over the stairs, and once the trio descends themselves, they find themselves just outside Caspia.

"Thats the last piece." Franky exhaled and dusted his hands off before turning to regard the city across the desert. "Whew, you sure know how to give a guy a SUPER workout. So are we takin' the stuff over there or somethin'?"

Mogwai nods "Welcome to Caspia, jewel of the desert, and soon to be the headquarters of the Adventurer Mutual Aid Network."
