Perhaps this is what passed for morning in Viorar, the moon was just coming up, almost as a mockery of the sun. A raven swooped into the town from the southern entrance to the town. Before long, a knight clad in black plate armor followed, the Raven landing gracefully on his shoulder. "This is the place, huh?" Urik asked the bird. The raven squawked at him. Urik nodded. "Let's see if we can't find some food, then."

Reila was doing her shopping for the moonrise, the eternal night was a bit disorienting to most people, but she has gotten used to the times in Viorar. A squawk caught her attention causing her to look up towards the south. A dark armored knight was there with a bird on his shoulder. "Hmph," she said shooting a small glare at the armored figure.

The Knight turned his head towards the source of the scoff in his direction. She didn't seem human, but he didn't exactly know what to expect here. Sir Urik decided it might be best to try to start a conversation with the locals. "Excuse me," He asked, walking over to her, "I'm actually new here. Could you tell me any information about the town?"

Reila turned around to face the knight and crossed her arms. She looks up and down the armored figure and his bird before considering her response. "Now why should I help you? Its not that hard for a knight to find his way around here is it?" she replies with a distasteful tone.

Hurrn flapped its wings and flew off a bit at the sound of her voice. Urik however didn't move much. "Well, I'd appreciate a guide is all, but... you do seem rather busy." He looked at the sky. "I've just never seen a town so... dark." He quickly caught himself. "No offence, of course."

Reila watched the crow fly off before turning her attention back on the knight. She quickly looked around and saw no one was really avalible for her to dump this guy on. Letting out a sigh, she spoke again, "Fine. I'm finished my shopping anyway." she replied before walking off. "I'll show you where the shopping district is, but thats it. Anything else you can find yourself." she called back as she continued to walk. "I'll leave you behind if you don't keep up."

Urik nodded. "I would appreciate it." He followed closely behind, his weapons were sheathed and he seemed as non-threatening as a black armored knight could be. "My name is Sir Urik, by the way," he said, trying to start a conversation with the woman.

Reila keeps her pace rather quick as they near the river that cuts through the shopping district. "Reila." she replied while she rolled her eyes at his mention of 'Sir' prefix. "Why are you here?" she asked as she turned a corner, slowing down for the knight.

Urik had no real answer to that question. "I woke up one day in a new land. Been camping a few miles south of here." He tried to think of the best way to explain it, but was rather confused at what happened himself. "Hurrn scouted around for a bit, and ended up finding this town. We travelled here in search of supplies and information." Urik raised an eyebrow "Am I the first person something like this happened to?"

Reila raises her eyebrow for a moment. "So your not part of some kind of order? You must be like a lot of other people around here." she said, lighting up a little bit seeing as he was new to this world. "Most people new to this world ends up in Truce far away from here, its rare someone will pop up here." Reila turned onto the shopping district and was greeted by one of the shop keepers still setting up. "Well here we are, any supplies you can think of you should be able to find here."

"Where I'm from, I used to be part of an order called the Knights of the Raven. But, I was the last one, regardless. It's a rather meaningless title wherever you travel." Urik looked around a bit and noticed Reila being a bit less harsh. "Is there any way I could pay you back? Offering you a meal or something? I'm sure there's a tavern here." Urik turned his attention to a nearby sign listing some of the places in the shopping district. He'd hoped he'd be able to get a bit more information from her, if she was willing.

"Well that explains the bird you were with." Reila replies as he explains his background. Black armor, what kind of knight wears black armor thats not involved in infarious plots? She caught his offer to repay her help and blinked with confusion. "What?" The girl was starting to get skeptical.

Urik chuckled a bit as she mentioned his raven. Still, her response to his offer caught him off guard. He didn't want to impose. "I just would like some more information from the locals. Like, that town of Truce, if you have more information about that. Or... Well, you don't strike me necisarilly as human. I'm curious as all. I don't mean to be any more of an inconvinience."

Reila crossed her arms for a moment then uncrossed them. "I guess I could tell you what I know. Just promise me there isn't some alterior motive behind this. There is a tavern not far from here, but we'll have to go south a bit." she explains as she gestures in the direction of the bar. "Are you going to buy your supplies first?" she asked remembering that was the whole point of him being lead here.

Urik nods and heads over to one of the stands. It was a very short purchase, the longest part was him figuring out the money exchange. He placed a bag with some rations in his pack, and surprisingly he bought a few scrolls. "There's no alterior motive, I assure you. I will admit, I have no business here. I'm just a man currently lost in a new place." When he gets back to Reila he nods, signaling his business was done. "Is there anything you're worried about? I don't mean to be a concern."

After you was finished up with his shopping she lead him to the tavern. "I'm just going to put this out there. I don't like knights." she replies bluntly. "They think they are the greatest things on the planet and they hate pretty much anything thats not normal to them, like dragons." Reila says getting a bit heated in her start of a rant. "They just assume all dragons are evil so they just go out of their way to slay them thinking they'll be heros when they don't even think of what happens to the other side."

Urik was caught off guard. As it began to sound like trouble, Hurrn began circling overhead in case Urik needed any help. The knight thought for a moment. "I... I haven't actually slain any dragons before, to be honest. In fact, many dragons I have read about, like the metallic races, seemed to be rather noble individuals." He shrugged. "I seek to defend people, not to to slay them. Unless there is a dragon who is trying to harm the innocent I have no quarrel with them."

Reila pauses her rant as Urik explains himself. "You aren't a dragonslayer?" she asked almost shocked considering most knights she had met considered dragonslaying a knights highest honor.

Urik shook his head. "If I hunt anything, it's the undead, and that's simply because a vampire by the name of Count Strahd ravaged my homeland of Barovia with a plague." He sighed. Hurrn landed on Urik's shoulder, sensing things had calmed down with the woman. "Strahd hunted down the rest of my order because we were a threat to his plans. I don't believe I've ever even met a dragon."

Reila orders a pair of drinks for the two of them and sits at a table. She thinks she can trust him a little more, but considering he could just be telling her what she wants to hear, it wasn't going to make her drop her guard. "Well I guess I should tell you about myself first. I was actually born in this world, so I have seen people show up from nowhere as long as I have lived, it seems like you can't run into anyone who hasn't been from somewhere else nowadays meaning I'm quite the rare meet." she explains. Reila starts talking about Truce and what its like there, and explains a bit about Viorar, how he could get between the two. There was a lot to explain, but she tried the best she could. "Any questions?" she asked finally finishing.

Urik leans back in his chair and stokes his beard. "I think that answers my questions, then, Reila." It was a lot for Urik to take in. He needed to find a new cause since he was out of Barovia. "I appreciate your time." As a waitress came over, Urik was quick to pull out a pouch and pay for the ale. "I think I'm going to stay in town for awhile until I can find something to do. You could say I've been jobless for awhile." He chuckled.

"Jobless? I didn't realize being a undead slayer was a job." Reila says as paying for her own drink since she wouldn't let anyone pay for her. "If you're looking for work I believe the town hall can help find you some odd jobs here and there." Even though she just met this knight she atleast grew not to outright hate him. "If you need help with anything you'll probably find me around the shopping district where I showed you. I tend to spend time there when I'm not at home."

"Undead slayer isn't a job. That's the point." Urik stands up and checks his bag, getting prepared to leave. "I appreciate the offer," he said. He extended his hand. "Thank you for your time, Relia. I hope you have a good evening."

Reila looks at his hand before taking it and giving it one shake. "Good luck on whatever you're doing then, Urik." she said as she let go and headed towards the door. "Don't die out there, otherwise it would be too ironic."

Urik smirked at the comment. "I won't, then." As he left, Hurrn quickly swooped down and landed on Urik's shoulder. Urik pulled out a peice of bread he had bought earlier and handed it to the raven, who gobbled it down quickly. "We'll be just fine, Hurrn. We know where to get supplies now, and she told me about a nearby inn. Hopefully there'll be a nice window for you, huh?" The raven croaked happily as the knight began to disappear into the town.
