Kent walked through Wutai, not talking to anyone there. It was not too long till he found himself southbound on the bridge towards Kett's rooms. He lit a cigar to calm his nerves. He had no idea what the hell The Sandman looked like, and would have been one of the first earth demons he would face. And he was going to kill it.

Sandman looked out the window staring down at the bridge, noticing the knight that would attempt to claim his life, he smirked and sat in a seat he had prepared, he didn't want to miss the fight between Kent and Mifune after all. He had to hand it to the Demon-Touched, it was all coming along beautifully.

Mifune leaned against the wall by the door to the hotel, a case of swords at his left and right. The straw in his mouth dropped as he looked ahead, noticing the man in question he strapped the cases onto his back and headed towards the bridge. Edmund's words ran clear in his mind, "There's a knight going to harm my apprentice Selim, A tragedy I know, but I was hoping you could put a stop to him."

The straw in his mouth dropped as he looked ahead, noticing the man in question he strapped the cases onto his back and headed towards the bridge. Edmund's words ran clear in his mind, "There's a knight going to harm our friend Selim. I was hoping you could put a stop to him."

Kent kept walking down the bridge when he noticed the man with sword cases strapped to his back approaching, almost directly towards him. Kent tried to give the man no interest as he continued walking steadfast towards the hotel. It wasn't a hard task, but he didn't need distractions.

"You've got one chance, knight. Turn back now, you don't have to do this." Mifune took both cases off of his back and faced Kent. "But if you still feel as though you need to do this. I won't hesitate."

"Out of my way." Kent didn't say much as he continued walking, not hesitating as he got closer to the man who seemingly just threatened him and looked as though he was standing his ground. A puff of smoke left Kent's mouth as he approached, ever closer.

"Fine, but know, I gave you a choice." Mifune threw both cases into the air, swords flying out as gravity took over and they plummeted to the ground. 20 on each side of the bridge with police tape blocking exit and 40 just around the bridge falling hapazardly. striking the ground perfectly so that they stand hilt out. Mifune grabbed his katana at his hip ready to draw it.

Kent stopped in his tracks as a sword landed right at his feet. The man seemingly created his own arena for the two to fight in. Kent jumped back at bit and drew his sword and bladed shield. "You don't know what you're doing," Kent said, "I'm not here for evil purposes. Do you even know what that thing you're trying to protect is?"

"Its a child, there is some darkness in his heart, but a child none the less. And as long as I can wield a blade I will not allow you to harm him." Mifune drew his blade, wielding it in his right hand. He dashed throwing the sword in his right hand. Picking up a katana in both hands he leaped off one of the swords in the ground gaining air to swing down at Kent.

Kent jumped to the side to dodge the first blade that Mifune threw at him, barely able to avoid it. "That thing is a forsaken demon! It is no child of any god, and you're only damning yourself by helping it!" Kent held up his shield above him to block Mifune's second attack attack from the air.

Mifune grunted as he brought his feet forward to kick at the shield and jump back with the impact. he landed grabbing a nearby sword to dual wield. He stood erect, "I already am damned." He took a defensive stance awaiting your response to the failed shield block.

"Welcome to the club, my name is Kent." Kent did not hesitate to hold up his shield and charged straight at Mifune, his sword held back and ready for an uppercut swing as soon as he got within melee range.

Mifune readied the charge with a sudden pommel strike to the rigght side of the shield then sidestepped the knight to swing at his left arm with the other sword, he calmfully said, "Mifune."

Kent's swing missed Mifune as he expertly dodged his attack and countered. The was enough force and precision behind Mifune's swing that Kent could feel it slice through his armor and cut his arm. Just a scratch. Only a scratch... "Pleased to meet you." Kent pulled his shield closer to him and immediately shoved it back out in at attempt to bash Mifune and knock him off balance.

Mifune quickly threw one of the swords skyward, wielding the remaining sword in his right hand and bracing the blade with his left mifune took the blow and met the slam with even force. Mifune winced a bit due to the force of the shield slam, but smirked as the blade began to fall.

The two warrior's eyes met, Kent's filled with unexplained anger, whilst Mifune's had a calm about them. The two had fought long enough to be able to read each others stares. Kent had seen that stare before. It was simply another test of faith. Kent looked straight up and swung his sword at the rapidly falling blade, causing it to go off course and wedge itself in the ground just a few feet from Kent.

Mifune leaped backwards, then dashed off to the right slicing at sword after sword in the direction fo Kent, sending them flying at the knight, 7 in all. After the blades began to fly Mifune ran towards Kent, having picked up another blade.

Kent could only dodge so many swords at once. Two or three? Easy. Four or five? Harder. Seven? Needless to say, Kent stood up a bit worse for wear that before. A drop of blood slowly trailed its way down Kent's face. Kent held up his sword against mifune's next attack, less of to counter and more to simply stand out as a spike for the samurai to land on if his assault didn't go off course.

Mifune saw the sword and decided to risk it. He strikes at Kent's waist with his left blade, then immediately released the blade allowing it to remain within the knight's armor, Mifune quickly began striking at the implanted sword with as many nearby blades as he could allowing the swords to simply fly as he used and discarded them them for a total of 8 strikes at the same point.

There was finally blood drawn from Mifune's skin. Kent smiled through the extreme pain he felt at his waist, sweat and silent tears falling down his face. He stood up straight again, with that same crazy grin. 'When will you give up Hunter? Death would be so much easier...' Kent coughed. "Lucky... shot." Kent unhooked his cloak from his shoulders and it fell to his feet. "Try to... get in another... one. I... dare you."

Mifune stepped back, his shirt bloodied at the right shoulder. He lowered both blades, "I'm giving you one last chance to walk away, I'd hate to see such a prominent swordsman die."

Kent only gripped the hilt of his silver blade even tighter. "You're not helping anyone," Kent said, and he took a step towards the samurai. "Not yourself, not whoever it is you're working for, not even the children..." Kent's steps made him get closer every time, but it could be obviously seen that every step hurt to take. "Whatever has tricked you... I pity the fate of their soul... and I pity you for being so easily fooled" he coughed, some blood came out with a wad of spit. "But you must know, I can't back down. Not now, not ever. My name is Kent, once I was called Sir Kent of the Legio Aurea. But, a hundred times since I have been called slayer. And I will not be stopped here." Kent held up his sword and shield in a combat stance once again.

Mifune sighed, "Then allow me to give an honorable man an honorable death. Multiplication." He ran at Kent striking at his right arm with one blade then realeasing it, doing the same at his back with the other blade. Mifune continued this pattern until there where 6 blades where lodged in Kent's armor at various locations. Mifune grabbed at swords around him striking at the ones lodged in Kent's body, he counted off as he did so. "6, 12, 24, 48, 96." At the final slice Mifune landed past Kent sheathing his now bloody sword in the sheath at his side.

Kent dropped his weapons, but somehow found the will to keep standing. He tried to walk, and stumbled to the side of the bridge where his arm fround a rail to lean on while he could still use his legs. He looked at the sky. "Forgive me... heavenly father..." Kent looked back at Mifune. "And forgive him... for he knows not what he does..." Kent could catch sight of Edmund, who had just recently appeared on the far side of the bridge. "...Oh, that explains it..." As he turned his head back to Mifune, his last words could have clinged to the heart of even the most stoic of men. "Judge a man by how he keeps his weapons, Mifune." he coughed, "You're a good man." With that, Kent's knees buckled, and he fell over the side of the bridge into the deep waters below.

Edmund ran up towards the scene as it happened. "Sir Kent!" Edmund dashed towards the rail and saw his final glimps of the knight, never to be seen again. 'And so, you have fufilled your end of the bargain. Congratulations, Evoker.' The wizard sighed as his attention went to Mifune. "Is at least Selim okay?"

Mifune looked back towards the hotel and nodded. He walked down the bridge back to the mainland, turning his head back to Edmund, "I'm headed back to Wutai for some rest." He noticed that the blade on his side was tarnished, a sign of miscare. he simply walked back towards the mainland, his mind uneasy at hearing your final words. He called out, without looking back, "And consider any debt between us to be cleared." with his words spoken Mifune disappeared from view.

Edmund looked down at the possessions Kent had left behind. His sword and shield. He knelt down and picked the two items up. He had one final thing he needed to do. He needed to return Kent's possessions, and see to it that the former knight would get a respectable funeral. Edmund had successfully avoided any personal involvment in Kent's death. The plan had come together, he was finally free of his deal. "Vale, Sir Kent. Vale."
