As the sun rises, Mogwai is in Eevee's cave, her head on his lap. She's idly twiddling her thumbs as the adorable fox-thing naps, her ears twitching every so often for... something. Nevermind that floating palaces make no sound, it makes her feel better anyway. Sorta.

Trapped. Emptiness. Darkness. Kalin dreamt he was imprisoned against his will in a world of nothing. But through sheer will, he felt the inexplicable means of escape. Light came flooding into his eyes as he emerged from what appeared to be a red and white sphere in the middle of an arena constructed by man with thousands of human presences looking upon him. Ahead, he saw a human man standing next to an enormous snake-like creature clad in steel.

Human voices rang out overhead, yet Kalin had trouble figuring out what was going on. "Annnd let's get on with the finale, folks! Can Caleb Ketra defeat the CHAMPION?! Leeeeeeet's BAAATTTTTTTLLLE!" The Eevee glanced around frantically. What was going on? Did he say Caleb? Behind him, Kalin turned to see his late friend standing there staring at him. "Go on, Kalin!" is all he would say. Curious that he was not holding his axe, Kalin thought.

And in an instant, Kalin found himself in the middle of the metal snake's grasp, the hard surface fracturing his bones while his lungs constricted and begged for air. He screamed in agony as he stared the creature in its heartless white eyes, its massive head bearing down on him. "And it looks like Eevee is in a BIND! Does Mr. Ketra have a way out of this tactic?!" As Kalin felt his life fading away, he glanced over towards his best friend for help. He merely stood there, watching.

It was then that Kalin's eyes snapped open as he breathed relentlessly for air, glancing around to see what would happen next. He was safe in his cave, the sun had begun to greet him, and the most important person in the world was on his lap. What need was there for fear? He had everything that made him happy. And so took released his tension and started to breath slower, his heart rate reducing to normal. Another nightmare.

Mogwai pats Kalin on the side "Nothing to worry about. We're safe here... for now anyway. Need to take another look outside soon, check for--" a snapping of twigs outside warned of something's approach "IT'S AN AMBUSH! BATTLE POSITIONS!" "I come in peace. And besides, " said Gizmo as she stepped into the cave "Is that any way to treat someone bearing gifts? Behold, the instrument of our deliverance." In her hands, she held a book. The front was done in flesh stitched together from multiple beings, the bindings were rings of bone. Flecks of blood coated it, and the whole thing screamed evil.

The Eevee winced as the moogles started enough sound to start a war. He glanced over towards the other side of the cave, where Candice was asleep with Julexa, Marie, and Sariah. "Vee.. (Shh..not so loud. The girls are still sleeping.)" whispered Kalin softly.

Both of the moogles nod towards Kalin and quiet down. "That thing looks... uh... are we going to remove the threat of that floating palace by bringing about the end of the world?" asks Mogwai. Gizmo shakes her head "Nay, though that would be quite a hoot. No, this plan is substantially safer for creation as a whole. And will likely cost a bit less sanity than the doomsday option. That said, we may wish to move this to the crossroads just outside the cave... this will be loud. And bright."

Kalin tilted his head to the side in curiousity. It was just a book, no different than other ones that he can't read, right? He gave Gizmo a nod and nudged Mogwai with his paw before rising to his feet to follow the eccentric armored moogle outside.

As our heroes reach the crossroads, Gizmo cracks the book open and pulls out a metal ring with 8 small quartz gems, placing it on the ground. She channels the elements through it, predominately Shade as the sky takes on a darker hue and a red multi-ringed portal stretches out from the ring. "Gizmo... do you mind telling us what you're doing there?" askes Mogwai, a tinge of apprehension in her voice. "Oh, it's quite simple really. I got the idea when you were panicking for the umpteenth time about how nowhere is safe. You were right." she says as the portal begins to close beneath their feet "We're going Nowhere."

"Vee? (Nowhere? What are you talking about?)" asked Kalin, staring nervously at the red portal below. Sure, Gizmo was a little strange sometimes..but she hadn't done anything wrong to them yet.

As the portal snaps shut, there is darkness for just a second before the light from the crystals start to appear. The entire nearby area is made up of luminescent crystal cobblestones suspended in a great void. Ever so often a strike of lightning occurs off in the distance, illuminating a great tower of unknowable height. "You've all probably been here at least once before, though you may not recognize it. It's a little known fact that all major known forms of teleportion don't go from point A to point B. They bounce off someplace. Usually, here. And I happen to have the slowest teleport known to mankind: The magnagate."

Kalin nodded. He didn't recognize it at all, though he also doesn't recall ever teleporting. Did a place such as this exist back in his world..and did his Abra friend, Koji, use it? The Eevee supposed he would never know. "Eeeevee? (Uh..exactly where we are we going? The girls will be worried if we're gone for too long.)"

Mogwai gazed up into the sky, where an aurora traced the skyline for countless miles. Gizmo decided to answer Kalin's question and put Mogwai's heart at rest. "This, is where we're going. We're no longer technically on the planet... so no matter where the fortress goes, we're safe."

Kalin blinked a couple of times to wrap his head around Gizmo's explanation. "Eeevee..vee. (But..we were already safe..sort of. Ambience went to the fortress with the Sword of Mana, he's going to put a stop to it. We were going to go to Monstro Town because the fortress fired there but it didn't blow up like Crysta. And on the way, I wanted to get people to pray for him.)"

Gizmo looks dumbfounded over at the little Eevee "He wot? I was working for ages trying to find a combination where you come out right where you entered and..." She sits on the edge of the walkway, feet dangling off the edge and sighs "Here I am miss time travel, and I'm always just a little too late for everything." With one last shrug she pushes herself off the edge and zips down into the darkness.

"Eeevee? ('Come out right?'..Heey! Where are you going? Shouldn't we go back?)" hollered Kalin, glancing over to Mogwai and groaned. "Vee? (Why do we follow her around again?)"

Mogwai shrugs as Gizmo slams into the ground near the group "Place has a safey feature. Anyway yeah, was just thinking you could pop in at night instead of having to post watch. Exit's right over here." She walks the group over to a staircase leading into what looks like a localized cloud bank, Mogwai trailing soon after.

"Vee. (Oh..I guess that wouldn't be a bad idea.)" noted Kalin, glancing around the place once more before entering the cloud bank. It certainly seemed mysterious and it could be fun to explore sometime.

As the group ascends, there is a bright light as the magnagate deposits them back at the crossroads, leaving a spiral pattern behind in the dust to mark its wake. Gizmo hands the device over to Mogwai "Here. I'll show you the key for it later. Maybe someday I'll teach you some of the destinations I've found. Have fun on your journey. You deserve it."

"Vee? (You don't want to come with us?)" asked Kalin, eyeing the spiral mark pattern that was left behind. "Eeevee. (It sounds like Monstro Town is a great place.)" Of course he would believe that. Moogles were accepted just about everywhere in society, so he wouldn't blame Gizmo for not wanting to go along. He had plenty of reason to want to see the place.

"I think she might have just been giving us some alone time." says Mogwai, with a glance to the cave "Though, I suppose we'll want Candice and the girls to tag along... we can certainly have room for one more." Gizmo is gleeful at this "If you really don't mind, then I'd love to. I can ride on top of the bus so you can go as fast as you like to. Ah, this will be the best road trip ever."

"Vee.. (Well..I don't know about that part..)" commented Kalin with a nervous smirk on his face. Times have changed since the days he actually enjoyed Mogwai's crazy driving. The thought of Marie and Sariah playing with the acceleration controls haunted him from the back of his mind. The sun had begun to clearly illuminate the forest, indicating it was time for breakfast. And this time, he would beat Candice to acquiring it.
