Kimen hadn't been to Shrike before this, and it was even more amazing than he could ever had anticipated! Here the buildings were tall and machinery seemed to reign over magic. The child couldn't wait to have a look around and explore the city on his own, but first thing was first, and that was exploring his new home. Kimen hurriedly put away his things after being shown his room by stuffing his bags into the wardrobe and into the space under his bed. He was eager to see for him self just how big the mansion was and if there were any fun places within it to explore.

Lucass paced back and forth in front of the Tablet of Promise, constantly inquiring to himself whether or not Kimen finished moving in to the manor and if he should go check …or if he should go find Kent first. He groaned loudly and thrusted his back onto the tablet and slunk to the floor in a pathetic heap. As Ms. Kuporia walked by to make her rounds, she stopped and stared at the boy while scratching the back of her head. "You silly boy…what are you doing, kupo?"

Lucass glanced up and mumbled silently, "...Nothing. Hey, do you know which room Kent's apprentice is staying in?" he asked the moogle maid, despite having been shown by Moit and Egon already. "Oh dear…I'm afraid not, kupo. I didn't realize he had one! Shall I find out for you, kupo?" The stonekeeper merely shook his head and rose to his feet. "N-no thanks. I er...think I know where it is."

The elderly maid smiled before continuing on her way, "Well then, you should go say hello, kupo!"

That was the best advice Lucass heard all day. With a nod and a deep breath, he began to head down the western hall where he'd been shown Kimen’s room. He clinched his fist tightly and brought it closer to the door before pulling it back and staring at it. Then after forcing his eyes shut briefly, he slammed his fist hard on the door before panicking and following up with a couple of gentler knocks.

Kimen was just about to step outside of her room when the knock came at her door. A really LOUD one! The child jumped, startled by the sudden noise and half suspecting Mr. Kent to be at her door ready to yell at her for something. That was the best explanation she could come up with, anyway. She went to it, wrapped her finders around the handle and pulled hit open. As she did she tilted her head up a little expecting the former knight to be standing there, "Hello---ow!" Kimen flinched as someone's knuckle made contact with her forehead. It didn't really hurt as Lucass had been knocking gently, but the 'ow' was the first response that popped into her head.

"Ow!" The sound echoed a thousand times in Lucass' head as his mind seemed to shatter into pieces. "Ack! I-I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!" asked the boy without breathing. It then dawned on him that he should probably do that.

Kimen gave a small giggle and rubbed his forehead, finding the situation less tense and stressful and more comical than anything. "Yeah, I am alright." He smiled at the boy. With such a brief meeting earlier he certainly hadn't expected him to come to his door. Or anyone for that matter! Kimen had just unpacked after all. "I just put up my bags. I was about to head out and take a look around the mansion. You live here too, right Lucass? Maybe you can give me a tour?"

"Oh! Of course, t-that's why I'm here, actually." said Lucass, scratching the back of his head...an action that had become an awful habit. "Oh, you forgot this in Truce. I held on to it and waited for you for a bit, but I didn't consider that you'd be busy packing your things...so I went on ahead with Moit. Hehe, Launchpad forgot all about him and brought Mekis and Hastur back, so we had to take the ferry. He was pretty upset!" said Lucass with a laugh, reaching his hand out to return the bottle you left behind at the fountain.

"I didn't even know I had lost it!" Kimen's smile widened to a grin and she wrapped her arms around the boy giving him a quick embrace, "Thank you so much! That was really nice of you to return it to me!" Kimen stepped back, placing the bottle on a nearby table so she could find it easily later. Lucass may be very shy, but he was also rather nice it seemed.

Lucass' cheeks lit like crazy as Kimen wrapped her arms him. What should he do!? He had not expected a hug so soon! "Oh, y-you're welcome!" Still, the boy attempted to return the hug but his hesitation caused him to be too late, his arms dropping back to his side in shame. "...Um, well...so this is the residential hall, but there are some rooms in the other hall down there too." started Lucass, pointing towards the long hallway to the east.

"The residential hall continues around that corner there, and there are a lot of different rooms for people." explained the boy, pointing at a turn in the hall to the west. "The main area is to the right down here. Come on, there's a lot of other places past the ascendalator!" said Lucass, a smile on his face and gradually feeling more comfortable as he thought about moving out of the doorway.

Kimen looked down the hallways Lucass was pointing to and blinked at the sheer number of rooms. This place seemed to be fit to accommodate for a lot of people. It reminded Kimen of the dorms at the magic school that he had lived in for a year while Dannick was taking his trials. "I remember Mr. Kent saying something about hunting ghosts. Does everyone do that here? There sure seems to be a lot of space."

"Not everyone, but most of them do. Part of it has to do with the need to run a business to upkeep the place, but the real reason is to gather a force of warriors to prepare for an invasion. You see..." Lucass paused for a second. Did he really want to fill you in with all of that knowledge? He'd hoped to relax and enjoy her company, not scare her with thoughts of ghosts invading the world in about six weeks. No, she had to know. Everyone did.

"..My former master sent me here to help Oboyo...the master of this manor. A phantom ship is on its way to this world with every intention to terrorize it. That's why the Paranormal Deliverance Force is so big...not to go investigate ghosts but to stand against those phantoms when the time comes."

Kimen's brows knit and he scratched the back of his head trying to figure out which questions to ask next as a dozen or so new ones popped into his head. "Why are the ghosts coming here? Does that means both of us are going to be taking a stand against this ship too? What else is being done to prepare for this?" He asked feeling a little worried. Really, what could Kimen do when put up against ghosts? Sure Kent was teaching Kimen to fight, but he would probably still be considered useless on the battle field... if that is what Lucass meant by taking a stand. There were other ways to make a stand against something without fighting after all but he wasn't sure if that applied here. Lucass had specifically said they were gathering warriors. "And Who is Oboyo? I am sorry, I don't really know anyone here yet by name other than you and Kent."

"No one knows why, really…not even my former master." Lucass didn't want to go into further detail, but he had begun to believe that the guide of the fog ship knew that the Rune of Punishment would fall into the cleft. Perhaps it gave up on the Soul Eater and decided to take that which Leknaat could not protect. He glanced off to the side a little as he started to walk eastwards towards the main hall.

"Well..I was planning to fight, yeah...but not everyone here is. I think Kent just wanted you to be somewhere safe when it happens. See, Oboyo has something called the 'Spirit Rune', which is the key to fighting back against these things. He's the one who started the group and he's been around the cleft to get support from other groups." Lucass paused and let out a sigh. "I'm sorry, Kimen..I didn't want to worry you. I just felt like you should know."

Kimen shook her head, indeed this was a bit troubling but the child preferred to be given a straight answer when it came to things like this. "No, I am quite glad that you told me, Lucass." She frowned a little at the thought of Lucas fighting though. They were both just kids, weren't they? But then the boy kept mentioning his former master, maybe he had once been a squire too and was done with training. "Are you good at fighting?" Kimen bit her lower lip when she asked this. Lucass seemed only a couple years older than her, after all! It was a scary thought imagining him going into such danger.

"Hmm...I don't know, honestly. I've never been up against a sentient being, dead or alive before. My master would use her rune to conjure creatures and golems for me to practice my magic on. But regardless, I'm here to help Oboyo...so I'm not afraid to fight when the time comes." answered Lucass as he entered the main hall. He waited for your comments before showing her the Tablet of Promise.

This seemed to worry the child even more. From what Kimen had seen of Lucass so far, he didn't seem like the fighting type. "I see. Just... Be careful, okay?" He gave him a small smile of encouragement, half afraid that his question might have brought up some doubt that he did not need under the circumstance. There was already plenty to worry about from what it seemed and whether or not Lucass could handle what they were up against didn't needed to be added to the list. "What kind of magic do you know? Maybe we can practice together sometime!”

"Mostly fire magic, it's largely dependant on this rune on my right hand." answered Lucass as he held his hand out. A red, fiery shaped rune could be seen embedded on it. "Most magic from my world is. I also know how to build catalysts and a containment field. Are you familiar with magic as well?"

"Yep! Back in my world I studied it. I didn't get to the part about runes though. I know I was supposed to be taught about them eventually." Kimen leaned down towards his hand to see the rune upon it, fighting every urge she had to take a hold of it and examine it closer. "My classes kind of got interrupted though, and I have been trying to continue my studies here in this world on my own. I don't really know a lot of fire magic beyond using it to light a candle or two."

"I see. Well, I'd love to practice with you sometime…but I'm not sure if there's much that I can show you. The magic of this world and my own are very different." said Lucass as he pulled his hand back and gestured towards an elevator-like device ahead. Sure, he knew other things...how to manipulate the runes of his world and how to calm them, but it was knowledge that he didn't feel the need to share. There was a tour to finish, after all! "This is the ascendalator. You just push this button here to bring it to this floor. Go ahead, try it!"

Kimen reached for the button and pressed it, taking a guess as to what the ascendalator did based on the word 'ascend' within it. It was probably something used to take people up to some place. Kimen wouldn't be surprised if more than one building around this city had one. "I think it is all very interesting." Kimen bringing his finger to his chin and tapping it lightly, eyes looking off somewhere in the distance, "Many worlds seem to have different types of magic and different magic systems from my understanding, but many abilities and functions seem to remain the same among them. It’s kind of weird that this world seems to allow for such variance. I wonder why that is."

"This world seems to be full of mysteries. To be honest...I haven't put much thought in what I should do after the battle. One step at a time I guess." commented Lucass as the ascendalator's shaft opened. He stepped in and waved at the ascendalator's caretaker, Dr. Carlton Reeves. "Hey Carlton. I'm just showing you the ascendalator. We'll probably be back later." As he watched the expression on the eccentric doctor's face, he immediately regretted his words.

"That's -DOCTOR REEVES- to you, boy! I don't care how old you are! Don't call the ascendalator if you don't need it! And mind your own business!" Midway through Carlton's rant, Lucass grit his teeth and nervously pushed the ascendalator's button again to close the door on him. "Um--don't mind him too much. He's still bitter about that part I fried. Why don't we go check out the rear courtyard?"

Kimen giggles as the door to the ascendalater closed cutting off the doctor's words, her thoughts and theories on this world and its magic system slipping momentarily from her mind. "Alright. Lead the way!" She said, barely able to hold back a grin.

With a smile a nod, Lucass headed for the pair of doors along the northern wall leading outside. He felt a little bad for Carlton, but Kimen’s giggle made him feel as if he did something right. Once outside, the sun's light slammed into his face as he squinted his eyes to see. The rear courtyard was massive and quite a few faces could be seen throughout it. The exorcist Lym sitting on a bench near a fountain reading a book, Launchpad lying under the Gitmidur performing some calibrations, and Chef Jean digging near the M85's garden for worms to add to his next entree. "What do you think? Pretty big, huh? I see some of the others come out here to spar sometimes. Launchpad is almost always over there working on the Gitmidur...oh yeah, you didn't see it before! That's how we got to Truce before I met you. It can fly!"

It really WAS big. It looked nothing like the courtyard Kimen had back home in his own world. While it had a variety of plant life and was well tended thanks to Rylan, it had a fairly oppressive and gloomy feeling to it which made Kimen choose to avoid it more often than not. This was far prettier, more open, and more relaxing, especially with how many people seemed to use it. "This is really nice! I wish the one I had back home looked like this!" Kimen admitted as he took it all in. When his eyes fell upon the Gitmidur he turned to Lucass with a hopeful expression, "Do you think I might get to fly in it someday?" Kimen hoped so.

"Of course! Launchpad is always willing to take people out inside of it. We could go ask him for a test run, if you'd like. He might be busy, though." Lucass couldn't help but chuckle at your eagerness to fly. "You should have seen Kent and Mekis when we went to Truce. They didn't like it at all!"

Kimen upon thinking of Kent flying in that thing snickered, "Was he grumpy afterwards?" She asked. She wouldn't be surprise if he was. He was probably against the idea of flying since it was unnatural. But who did not look at the birds at some point and envy them? "Can we really? I think that sounds like fun!"

"Oh yeah." answered Lucass, deciding he should probably stop there. Blaming the entirety of Kent's grumpiness on the Gitmidur would help keep you from finding out the real reason for their visit to Truce. "Sure! It can't hurt to ask, right?" With that, Lucass headed over towards Launchpad and the Gitmidur and gave the pelican a wave. "Hey Launchpad. Thanks for taking us to Truce earlier...this is you, Kent's apprentice." Lucass stopped and glanced over to you for a second. "You -are- his apprentice, right?"

Kimen followed after Lucass, excitedly. The Gitmidur looked too big and heavy to fly, but he didn't doubt that it did. "Hello, Mr. Lauchpad. Its a pleasure to meet you!" Kimen said, holding out his hand to the pilot, "And yeah, I am Mr. Kent's apprentice! Dorrian back home was trying to teach me swordplay but the lessons didn't get very far before I ended up here. Kent was nice enough to agree to teach me!" His hand was out but the child's eyes wandered over the ship. "Can this thing really fly? How high can it go? Does it go very fast?"'

Launchpad put his wrench down and extended his hand to your to shake it. "No problemo! Hi there! It sure can, hehe. Gee, I never tried to see how high I could get. Mr. J. doesn't get upset often but he really let me have it once when I almost crashed trying to chase after one of Monotoli Inc's choppers." said the pelican, oddly proud of the concept.

"We were wondering if you wouldn't mind taking us once around Shrike." asked Lucass hopefully.

"Hmm..well, I guess so. Alright kiddos, hop in! Just give me a moment to run through all the checks."

"Thank you Mr. Launchpad!" Kimen could hardly contain her excitement and without any warning at all she reached over and took Lucass' hand, trying to quickly pull him along into the ship with her. "Come on! Lets go Lucass!"

Putting his tools aside, Launchpad strapped his goggles on before opening up the door to the cockpit and taking a seat, flipping a series of switches after starting up the Gitmidur's engine. "U-um, okay!" stuttered Lucass as you grabbed his hand, entering the ship with her and taking a seat. "It's apparently a c-complicated process, so he has to make sure everything is safe before we go."

Kimen eagerly hopped into one of the seats where he could watch Launchpad work, sometimes craning his neck in order to see exactly what switches were bring flipped. Maybe later the child would ask him about what each of them did and how he knew which ones needed to be turned on and which ones needed to be left alone. Lucass was right though, it did look like a complicated process. "Oh!" Kimen realized just then that he was still holding on to Lucass' hand. He gave a nervous laugh and let go, "I'm sorry."

"I-it's okay." said Lucass, joining in the nervous laughter and slowly pulling his hand back after being released. Feeling as if he should break the pause, Lucass attempted an "Um, so.." before Launchpad gave the two a thumb's up, proceeding to lift the helicopter gradually into the air. "Oh, looks like he's ready! We can see out this window here." said Lucass, pointing at the window to their right. "I don't know all of the buildings, but I can point out some of them."

Kimen tensed a little as she felt the helecopter lift away from the ground, but her nervousness quickly melted away to awe and excitement again. She leaned towards the window, watching as they lifted further and further away from the ground. "This is amazing!" She breathed, mouth falling open. She almost couldn't believe it.

"It's pretty cool, huh?" asked Lucass as the Gitmidur began to make its way out of the Jinsaka Manor and over the various streets in Shrike. "See that super tall building over there? That's the Monotoli Tower. They're uh…some kind of...company. I er...don't really know what they do. But they're important, I think." said Lucass, scratched his head nervously. Some guide he was.

"Uh-huh!" Kimen answered, looking down at the city below them. The buildings looked nothing more than detailed, realistic toys from this height. He looked where Lucass was indicating, remembering seeing the building from the ground. It looked so different from above! "What about that building?" Kimen asked, pointing at one they were passing over.

"Hmm..I think that's.." Lucass paused for a second as a heavy feeling filled his heart. "..Nakajima Robotics." he attempted to say with a normal voice. He wasn't there, but he heard what happened. He idly wondered if Kent would ever tell you about anything that occurred there or how long it would take for someone to spill the beans on the incident. Thankful for Launchpad's gradual turn westwards, another building entered their view that he could use to change the subject. "Oh! See what giant 'W' on that one? That's Dr. Wily's Labs...they build robots like Ms. Lenai and Servbot #1337 in there, too!"

Kimen tore her attention away from the window to look at the boy, about to ask why Lucass sounded so... –sad--. when he mentioned Nakajima Robotics, but before she could say anything he moved on to pointing out the next building. "Is this city known for it's robots then? It sounds like there are quite a few places focused on them."

Lucass nodded. "It is. In fact, we should be seeing...." He trailed off momentarily as the Gitmidur made its way westwards over a new set of buildings. "...there! That's the Engineer's Guild. Oboyo said that a lot of aspiring inventors go there to prove themselves. Supposedly, a lot of inventors are inspired by a famous moogle. I don't remember his name at the moment, though...but someone who was born in the cleft might know."

"Wow. I wonder if it is... What is his name? Car, Carsan-Something? I read some things about him in the libary in Viorar." Kimen leaned so far over that she nearly fell out of her seat trying to take a good look at the building as they flew over it. She hoped she would be able to recognize some of these places when she was back on the ground. This place was so different from the other places Kimen had found herself living in. She almost couldn't believe she was living here now...well, for the moment anyway. Before Kimen could feel saddened by that thought she sat back and turned towards Lucass, smile remaining ever present on her face. "Is there any places here that you like to visit, Lucass?"

"Oh yeah! Carsanquay! Yeah, that's it. Wow, you've been to the Etansel Library too? I've only ever been able to go once, and...er...well I didn't get of a chance to read anything.." commented Lucass, his mind flashing back to the embarrassment that he and Oboyo went through upon encountering Florence there.

"Not really..I mean, I kind of like this city, but it's also pretty loud and dirty sometimes. It's hard to find supplies for my catalysts because there aren't any wizards around here. But I guess I like to go Sei Park when the others are having noisy spars in the rear courtyard. Oh, and the food at Lu Bu Feng Xian's reminds me of home. But...you're lucky. I wouldn't mind staying in a place like Viorar for a while. I bet there's all kinds of good books there."

"Well, it happened to be where I ended up when I fell into this world. I was so happy to find such a large library near by and it was really comforting at first to have so many books available to me including some that are more fun to read than the dry ones I had to study from. But... I kind of started missing the sunlight after a while. So I made my way to Truce." Kimen leaned back towards the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of the park Lucass had mentioned despite not knowing where it was. "Maybe we can go visit those places! And Viorar too! The last time I was there I was for a winter festival. I wouldn't mind going back to visit."

"I'd love to! Neither are from the manor, so it's a quick walk." said Lucass, his eyes lighting up as you suggested visiting Viorar. "How about we go after the battle is over then? You can show me around Viorar, kind of like how I'm showing you around here. Just the two of us...erm, I mean, well, Kent could go too if he wanted...we'd er have to ask him first of course.." Lucass felt as if he had stepped in a bear trap as he nervously scratched the back of his head.

He got far too ahead of himself. The Gitmidur continued its trek southwards, a lighthouse and a beach slowly coming into view.

"I'd love to do that! And yeah, if you think we should bring Kent along we could ask him. He didn't seem too happy the last time we were there but that was probably because it was cold. I can't promise the same view though." Kimen tilted her head back, trying to imagine what Viorar looked like from above at night... or even what this place looked like for that matter.

"Great! I can't wait!" exclaimed Lucass with a smile, briefly glancing back out the window to see where the Gitmidur was. "Oh, there's the lighthouse and the beach. I forgot about that...I went swimming there once with Lym and...Lionel. We could go visit that too, if you'd like." Launchpad began to turn the helicopter eastwards. Its journey around the island was almost over.

Kimen frowned a little realizing he had nothing to swim in, but perked up when he remembered that swimming wasn't the only option at the beach. He could always collect sea shells and build sand castles. As little magic as this place had to offer (No wonder Kent was staying here so much), Kimen had at least had a few neat spots to check out and a new friend to do it with too! And the mansion was certainly a little nicer than Kimen's tree house or the abandoned house he had been living in before he found Kent again. All in all, this place wasn't that bad. "I haven't been to the beach since I was little. At least not for fun. We should definitely go there too!"

As the beach left the viewing range of the Gitmidur's side windows, the Jinsaka Manor soon came into view as the helicopter's shadow raced over it, coming to a stop above the helipad in the rear courtyard. "And there you have it...the city of Shrike. Let's make sure to thank Mr. Launchpad for taking is out like this once we land. It's kind of hard for him to hear up there sometimes."

Kimen nodded in agreement, watching out the window as the helicopter hovered and descended. She felt a little disappointed that their trip was ending so soon, after all it had felt like they had only just left the manor. "I can't believe I just flew! Do you get to do this all the time?"

"The others do...I usually stay here at the manor. My magic is um...not very good when a lot of allies are nearby." noted Lucass as the Gitmidur touched down, the engine shutting off and the noise dissipating. Launchpad removed his goggles and glanced back at the kids with a smile on his bill. "How about that? Hehe. Did you two have fun?"

"Oh yes, Mr. Launchpad! Thank you! That was a lot of fun!" Kimen said smiling widely. It better than any of the rides he had gone one when he visited the boardwalk! And the child hoped that there would be other rides in this thing in the future. Lots of them! "When can we do it again?"

"Glad you enjoyed it, hehe!" said the pilot proudly, nodding at himself. "Well, I have an errand to run to Truce tomorrow. You can come along then, if you'd like. You kiddos should get going though, I've got to get back to work on the frame." Lucass nodded and thanked Launchpad before disembarking, turning around and waiting for you. "Come on, there's one more thing I'd like to show you."

Kimen hopped out of the helicopter finding that her legs were feeling a little wobbly after the ride and followed after Lucass, turning only breifly to give a quick wave good-bye to the pilot. "Alright! Lead the way!" She said nodding to Lucass, excitement still apparent in her voice.

"Oh yeah, see that rock garden? A giant robot made it, if you can believe that." noted Lucass as he passed by the M85's garden on the way to the manor. As he tried to open the door, he found that someone was already attempting to open it from the inside. He quickly stepped back so that the door wouldn't slam him in the face, allowing a human male dressed in a black trench coat to exit. The man stopped and looked down at the kids. "Oh...hey there, Lucass. Who's your friend?"

With a smile, Lucass gladly performed some hand gestures to get you and the man acquainted. "Hey Oboyo. This is Kimen, Kent's apprentice. Kimen, this is Oboyo Jinsaka…the reason everything that's here is here." Oboyo laughed lightly as he extended his hand down towards you, "You give me too much credit...everyone here has worked hard to get us where we are today. It's good to meet you, you. I didn't realize Kent had an apprentice, I'd have asked him to bring you along sooner."

"It’s a pleaseure to meet you Mr. Jinsaka!" Kimen offered his hand to the man. Lucass had mentioned this man before as well as said something about a rune too. He was half tempted to inquire about it but decided against it unless the topic came up. Still, that didn't stop Kimen from trying to catch a glimpse at Oboyo's hand in the event that the rune happened to be in the same place as the one Lucass had. "I kind of lost track of Mr. Kent for a while." Kimen laughed nervously, "But it seems like he is doing well after coming here. He has friends and is doing something positive with himself. He has even become more accepting of magic. I can only assume it is because he came here so I am really grateful and happy for that. I have been pretty worried about him."

Like Lucass' Rage Rune, you would find the Spirit Rune on Oboyo's left hand. "Is that right? I suppose you're welcome, then. He's a good man and is fighting for a lot of people. Well you, if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask me, okay? I'd like to talk more, but I need to go meet someone." Oboyo certainly seemed to be in a hurry, one could draw the conclusion that he needed Launchpad sooner.

Kimen noticed the rune on Oboyo's hand, wondering if that was the case for all the people who had runes. Unlike Lucass' rune though, Oboyo's glowed with a cyan color. Kimen decided she would have to ask the boy about that later. "I will! Thank you very much!" She nodded, stepping aside to let Oboyo pass before flashing a smile to Lucass, "Wow! I imagined he was a pretty busy guy so I never expected to meet him." She admitted, glancing off in the direction Oboyo had went.

"He is...but he always finds time to listen to people. It's much nicer talking to him instead of Elenor..she's very grouchy. And speaking of grouchiness..." Lucass trailed off as he entered the manor and glanced towards the ascendalator. "...I wanted to show you the dock, but I guess we can do that next time when Carlton's in a...less angry mood. I can still show you this, though!" said Lucass excitedly as he led you towards a large stone tablet resting near the northern wall.

Kimen stepped before the tablet eager to see what had Lucass so excited, what Kimen saw was a list of name, many of them unfamiliar to him. It didn't take long though to spot one that wasn't though, "Oh! Your name is on here Lucass!" Kimen said pointing out the name and sounding out the word Tenkan that accompanied it. His eyed scrolled down the tablet further finding his own name placed upon it. "Chi-kat-su? ...There is kent too! Chi-ko?" He looked back to Lucass hoping the boy would be able to provide an explanation as to what the words meant.

"This is the Tablet of Promise...I brought it with me when Lady Leknaat sent me to this world. There was a lot of war on my world, political heads were always out to get their greedy hands on the power of the 'true runes'. My master is an astrologist and has a way of looking to the stars for guidance. She's played a part in the past assisting 'destined leaders' in overthrowing oppression and ushering in prosperity by supplying them with someone like me and one of these."

Lucass paused for a second and placed his hand on the tablet. "She's known about the guide of the fog ship for some time..and I guess the star she saw leading 107 others towards it was Oboyo's. I am this tablet's caretaker...my master showed me how to look at the stars and to align them with those who have joined us." Lucass removed his hand and used it to scratch the back of his head.

"It's, uh..a little complicated. But basically, the names of those stars are names of mythical individuals from my world. They don't exist here in the cleft of course, so I have to use a star chart. 'Chikatsu' was known as the 'Eagle in the Clouds'...I don't know why you were aligned with that star, but that's the image I saw when I tried to read your star. The same goes for just about everyone except Oboyo, really."

Kimen tilted her head to the side not sure what 'Eagle in the Clouds' meant either but it seemed like a rather neat name to be given at least. And she was pretty impressed too, as it seemed as though Lucass was entrusted with a great responsibility. "It sounds like your job is pretty important Lucass." She said, looking at the names again. "What about the ones you and Kent have? What do they mean?"

"'Chiko' is identified by a gold spotted leopard...and 'Tenkan' is associated with a dragon in the clouds." Lucass paused and thought for a second. "Huh...both of our stars involve a creature in the clouds. There's only three like that, too...I guess we were destined to meet each other, huh?" noted Lucass with a playful grin.

"Wow! Really?" If they were not destined then it was quite a coincidence. Kimen folded his arms and thought about the different names and what they could mean. "I rather like your alignment, Lucass! Then again I always liked and admired dragons. They are very wise and powerful creatures where I am from." Kimen smiled, deciding not to mention that they were also feared by many and hunted for their treasure and scales. Many of Kimen's problems back home had actually stemmed from Kimen trying to save a nest of them.

"Ehehe...well...yours is pretty cool too.." Lucass said nervously. "In my world, there's a group of Dragon Knights who fight for the Toran Republic. Their leader, Joshua Levenheit, has the Dragon Rune...which is what allows dragons to exist in my world in the first place. He helped my master recover the other half of her rune, the Gate Rune, from her wicked sister. I always wanted to fly on one...but I guess there's always the Gitmidur."

"I bet flying on one would be amazing! I heard there were some dragons up in the mountains next to a lake. I wonder if they are friendly. Maybe we can add them to our list to visit when this is over! Um... Though probably without Kent. I am not sure what he'd think about dragons or what the dragons might think of him." Kimen laughed. If Kent went along the child imagined he'd be about as tolerant around them as her own brothers would be, which was not at all.

Lucass didn't see why not. Dragons were respectable creatures in his world and they seemed to be in your as well. Going without Kent particularly caught his attention. "That sounds like a great idea! Heh, I'm sure Kent would cause a good bit of trouble." said Lucass, laughing as well. At the end of his laughter, he smiled. "I'm glad I met you, you. I feel a lot better about the battle now...I had no idea what to do afterwards. Now I have something to look forward to. "

"I am glad for that. I am happy I met you too, Lucass! Though... I wish there was more I could do to help everyone." Kimen admitted, still smiling though a little more softly than before, "I am sure I'll find a way to."

"I'm sure you will too." Lucass then glanced off to the western hallway and scratched the back of his head nervously. "Um...I guess you probably need to get back to your duties for Kent, huh? That's about it for the tour...there are a few other areas but we're not allowed to go inside of them. There's a meeting room down the eastern hall where a lot of members of the PDF convene once a week. You'll know when that is…there will be -a lot- of people walking around."

Kent hadn't said anything about doing any duties, but Kimen supposed that he probably should head back to his room and put away his things properly considering everything had just been shoved into the nearest spaces he could find. That and he was kind of getting a little hungry. It might be a good idea to find some food as well. "Yeah, I guess I should head back. Thank you for the tour, Lucass! I had fun!" Kimen reached out and hugged Lucass one last time before taking off back in the direction of his room, turning back a couple times to wave to his new friend.

Not willing to lose the opportunity this time, Lucass wrapped his arms around you and returned the quick hug. "Me too. See you next time!" said the stonekeeper as he smiled and watched you head off, waving back until she disappeared down the western hall. After taking a deep breath of relief, Lucass slouched his back carelessly on the tablet. Sure, war was going to start in a few weeks and Graham stole the Rune of Punishment...but things were looking up. Lucass had a reason to fight back.
