Roche was kneeled in the manor's courtyard, his Crossblade in the ground in front of him, words of prayer coming from his mouth behind his clasped hands.

Sitting among one of five chairs on the Jinsaka Manor's front courtyard was the native of Cosmo Canyon, Sutan. Lying across his lap was his enormous spear as he stared at the preacher in front of him with a blank expression on his face. He was either very bored or clearly indifferent, but one can never tell with this man.

Solaire looked up at the approaching manor as he ventured up to the courtyard. The slight clinks of his armor and chainmail signal his arrival as he walks up to someone who seemed to be praying to something and a spearman. He observed his surroundings from the small slits in his cylindrical helmet. "Hello? Is this the place where the ghost fighters reside?" he said returning his attention to the duo.

Roche's eyebrow raised in curiosity, he stood and faced the armored man, "Ghost fighters, a Catholic priest, giant robots, a dog, pokemon, and a GhostLight. But who, praytell, are you?"

Solaire stood up straight then gave a polite bow. "I am Solaire of Astora, Warrior of Sunlight." he replied straightening himself once more.

Sutan's gaze continued to rest upon the preacher, not even giving a grunt of greeting to the stranger in the courtyard.

Roche sensed an aura of corruption around the man, he thought on this before responding, 'Hmm, he doesn't seem to have any malicious intent, but undead are undead, so I'll have to be somewhat careful.' he retrieved his Crossblade from the ground before speaking."I am Father Roche, Envoy of God to this land. What business have you here?"

Solaire could feel he was being studied, its a feeling he's gotten many times before. "I was informed of a rumor that this place was fighting against ghosts. There was also word of an invasion of some sort." He explained, "I was hoping that I could make use of my abilities and assist in those efforts if it means to protect people who need it. If I came to the wrong place, I apologize for my intrusion."

With her wings fully extended, and horn aglow, Twilight Sparkle touches down on the manor's front courtyard with numerous bags floating along behind her in midair. "Well... I did need supplies, and hopefully these will be enough for the others..."

"There's no need for that." came a voice from the gate leading out to the streets of Shrike. Entering from the gate was Oboyo with a serious expression on his face. "Come on Roche, we don't have time for formalities. You too, Twilight. Is anyone else here?" asked Oboyo as he turned to the newcomer, extending his hand. "Welcome to the team, er..what's your name again?"

Solaire looked down at the hand extended out to him and hesitated for a moment before taking it and giving it a firm shake. "I am Solaire of Astora. It is good to meet you." He said his tone quite pleased despite his face hidden beneath his helmet.

"Oh? What's going on?" Even with her supplies magically suspended in midair, a concerned Twilight Sparkle stops and turns away from the entrance to the manor to regard Oboyo and the others. "Just give me a few moments to leave the things I bought today in my room, then I'll be ready."

Sutan grunted and rose up from his seat, either glad to be away from the sermon or upset that it was disrupted..the world would never know. He followed Oboyo inside the manor as Oboyo explained. "I just got word from Nanaki. Some kind of ghostly horse rider shot across the sky above Cosmo Canyon. He said his 'grandpa' saw the ghost going towards the island of Pedan. There's no immediate threat since there's nothing there but an endless jungle, but..we need to take care of it immediately."
Oboyo continued on as he headed eastwards towards the meeting room. "Supposedly, the thing is pretty big. We might need some serious firepower, so I'm talking Hastur, Helios' M85, O--" Oboyo stopped as he opened the door to the meeting room and found it nearly barren, only Launchpad sitting at a table with Servbot #1337 playing a game of tic tac toe, neither party seemed to know what they were doing. Oboyo let out a deep sigh. "..they're not here, are they?"

"Well, let's hope th-" In rather quick succession, Twilight Sparkle's right eyebrow twitches a few times before she groans and smacks one forehoof against her head. "This is going to be extremely tough without them or someone like Trixie to back us up, isn't it...? Ugh. Well, looks like we're going to be the only ones to clean up this mess, this time... But with my magic as powerful as it is, I'm positive we can handle it."

Roche sighed, "I can ward off the spirit, but what kind of damage we can do will be somewhat limited."

Solaire followed behind the group, listening to their conversation. It seems like he showed up at a pretty oppertune time, with the sudden appearance of a monster he could display his skills. He remained quiet though for the most part, since he was new to everything it probably wasn't the best idea for him to run headlong into a situation he couldn't handle.

"We'll have to manage. Launchpad, go prep the Gitmidur. Roche, Twilight, if you have any preparations to make, go do so." said Oboyo as Launchpad stood up and gave a salute before rushing out of the room. As if feeling left out, Sutan grunted loudly. Oboyo turned to the native, initially confused but soon realizing the point. "Oh yeah..you can come too, Sutan. I'm sure Nanaki would want that." With another grunt, Sutan turned around and followed Launchpad out.
"Solaire, I'd hate to get you involved in something so dangerous so suddenly, but we could use the help. Are you alright with going to the Island of Pedan?" asked Oboyo as he headed for the hallway and towards the ascendalator as well.

Roche cheked Mary's barrel, he had enough ammo, he thought to himself. He followed after Oboyo.

Solaire looked Oboyo and nodded, "You shall have my sword by your side. I'll be happy to prove my worth." Solaire tapped his straight sword dangling by his side in its sheath as he followed everyone's lead.

Silently, Twilight Sparkle glides behind and above the rest of the group as it heads for the ascendalator, expression grim and horn sparking occasionally.

Launchpad wasted no time preparing the helicopter as Oboyo emerged from the manor's rear entrance to step on board. He shouted to overpower the helicopter's engine, "I hope you don't mind the noise! A couple of the other members really hate the Gitmidur for some reason!" If Sutan grunted in response, it couldn't be heard as he boarded the helicopter as well. Launchpad glanced back from the cockpit and gave a thumbs up as if ready to disembark at any time.

Roche took a seat on the Gitmidur, he took Mary out of her Manger, thumbing the barrel absentmindedly.

Once she's aboard the Gitmidur, Twilight Sparkle nods somberly to Launchpad, before sitting down and turning to Oboyo. "Let's do our best... It'll be tough, but we can't just turn and run in fear... Not now."

Solaire boards the helicopter cautiously, this thing was loud and he didn't exactly trust the spinning blades above. However once inside he relaxed a little bit and mimicked the others by sitting down in a seat. "How long will it take to reach our destination?" he shouted still not used to the elevated noise levels.

"About an hour of Launchpad pushes it. Way longer by ferry, and the only ferry that runs out there is from Gold City. Why don't you tell us about yourself in the meantime?" suggested Oboyo, raising a one leg over the other and leaning back.

Solaire nodded and looked between the company around him and started his story. He told them about where he came from and the dangers of his past world, what he did in that time, and he even mentioned how he had hoped to find a sun of his very own there. He ended on his happenings upon entering this world like meeting Deneb of Briggantes and how she was able to grant him a sun of his very own.

Roche activate the tacker, he hit a few times in frustraion as there were no blips on the screen. "I trust Nanaki's word, do you think its busted?"

"I see. I was born and raised in the cleft, but many here have fallen in like you. I hope you're able to fit in." said Oboyo as the Gitmidur's shadow hovered over the jungle of illusions. Spotting a promising clearing, Launchpad began to set the helicopter down. Oboyo leaned over and dug through a compartment in the back for supplies: a ghost tracker, a flare gun, and a ghost trap. He grabbed the tracker and handed it to Roche while pocketing the flare gun in his jacket.

The trap was useless without a proton gun. "First we'll try to draw it to us. I'd rather not go too far from the Gitmidur..I've heard stories about this place."

After stepping out of the Gitmidur, Twilight Sparkle calmly and quickly assembles her sniper rifle with her magic, before hiding it near a tree close to the helicopter and preparing a magical flare. "I've never been here before, but something... just doesn't feel right about this place... I'm going to stay close to the Gitmidur, and use my magic for fighting it."

Solaire hops out of the Gitmidur and looks around his surroundings not really having anything to set up or gather. "Hmm..." he said as looked over as the lavander pony assembled the device telepathically. "I don't know I kind of like this place, the pleasent surroundings of nature, the tropical heat. Its like being on an adventure." he replied cheerfully.

"One way to find out." said Oboyo as he held the flare gun up and fired it into the air.

Roche looked to the tracker after hearing a rhythmic beep coming from it. "Here it comes."

There's, rather suddenly, heavy sparking from Twilight Sparkle's horn, at the same time she lowers her head and takes flight. "I'm charging a stronger spell for when whatever it is we're facing arrives... Leave the ranged attacks to me, alright? I'll be sure to keep moving so it can't get a hit in, but be ready to cover me if it does!"

Solaire grabs his shield and readies his sword, as he prepares for a fight. His tactic for fighting was completely different then the others, but it was how he knew and it hasn't failed him before.

Roche put the tracker down and pulled out Mary, ready for whatever came.

The sound of galloping can be heard in the distant east as ghostly rider emerges from the jungle thicket, a massive lance in its hand. The six-legged horse whinnied fiercely as it came to a stop out in the clearing, its rider glaring down at the living below. Oboyo glanced at Twilight, Solaire, Roche, and Sutan before gazing back up at the rider. Always start with diplomacy. "I am Oboyo Jinsaka, leader of the Paranormal Deliverance Force. We are here to--"

Before Oboyo could finish, the ghostly rider rose its arm up and plunged its lance towards him. Eyes widened, Oboyo dived out of the way to the right and held his left hand up, the cyan rune glowing brightly. "Well so much for that. No heroics, guys!" Once charged, Oboyo sent a hazy ball towards the ghost, causing its translucent appearance to brighten up, an indication of tangibility.

"Got it. Stick to ranged attacks here!" As she watches the lance miss Oboyo, Twilight Sparkle takes flight, coming to a hover far above the ghostly cavalier and angling her body enough to fire a volley of magical flares at the phantasm.

Roche smirked and drew Mary at eye level, he began firing shot after shot into the spectral beast.

As if expecting the onslaught of ranged attacks after being rendered tangible by the Spirit Rune, the ghostly rider held its free arm up to block the blows. This maneuver was futile however, as a tangible spirit's material is broken down when under fire. Regardless, the rider glared down at Oboyo, as if already aware of who was responsible for its current state. It proceeded to hold its lance up high as five ghostly wisps formed around it, flying towards the members of the PDF.

Still on the ground, Oboyo was forced to keep rolling to the right to evade the wisp heading his way. He dug into his jacket for his handgun and fired a few rounds.

Roche saw the wisp coming for him, he fired a shot at it to see if it would dissipate, wanting some extra protection, Roche drew his crossblade holding it front of him channeling holy mana into the silver sword.

'Uh... Saying this is not good might be the biggest understatement of my life...' Even though she's sent numerous magical flares flying from her horn at the phantom rider, Twilight Sparkle quickly swings around, kicking her wings into overdrive to try and outfly the wisp rocketing towards her at the same time she readies a second magical attack. "Hopefully I can throw this thing off my tail..."

Solaire quickly tucked away his talisman and replaced it with his sword once more. He stood his ground with his round shield raised. "I fear no wisp!" he shouted and prepared to take the wisp's attack with his shield.

Being an essence that was not blasted by the Spirit Rune, Roche's bullet merely passed through the wisp as it made contact with his crossblade. Twilight's wingwork paid off as her wisp flew forward aimlessly while Solaire's wisp tested his lack of fear as it smashed into his shield. Sutan performed a diving roll to the left, his wisp barely knicking his skin as he rushed towards the rider with his spear, spinning it during his advance until his arrival where he unleashed the momentum into a slash. Twilight's horn flare succeed in breaking down a little more of the rider's material as it held its ghostly lance skyward and concentrated for a second.
His clip empty, Oboyo reached into his jacket for another magazine to reload.

Roche placed his cross back on his back, realizing that the wisp is gone he pulled out Mary, channeling mana into the weapon hoping to increase the efficiency of gun's attacks.

"Alright... So I know these things can't follow a wild trajectory..." With a brief relieved sigh, Twilight Sparkle doubles back around, horn lighting up as the air in front of her seems to solidify into blades. "Hope this works... Kagura, thank you for showing me this... Dance of Blades!" In rapid succession, a volley of razor-sharp wind-blades rush at the phantom rider.

Solaire braced for impact and shifted backwards as the wisp collided with his shield. It was surprisingly solid, much like a soul sorcery from his world. He pushed back against the wisp with his shield and then took a horizontal swipe at it before it could try to follow up with a second attack. The knight turned slightly to get a view of his comrades starting their counterattack. Solaire pulled out his cloth talisman once more and preped another lightning spear in his hand.

The rider's ghostly material breaks down further as Sutan's spear and Twilight's wind-blades make contact. The rider's size now wasn't much larger than the others, it didn't have much more material left. It then proceeded to swipe its massive lance in front of it, sending Sutan some distance back towards the jungle's thicket. "Sutan!" shouted Oboyo as he grit his teeth and emptied another clip on the ghost rider.

Oboyo's shout is enough to prompt Twilight Sparkle to direct her magic towards Sutan in an effort to keep him from getting injured, though it also prevents a follow-up to her second use of the Dance of Blades. "I've got him... Just focus on taking that thing out, and I'll see if I can distract it!" However, even with her effort, the pegacorn mare boldly flies in a tight circle around the rider, using weak strikes as a diversion.

Roche stood still for a moment, his head down, Mary between his hands, he prayed for a his voice getting louder, "Oh great Lord of ours who dwells within the Heavens, May thy name be kept true. Oh Lord of Ours! I am your servant of peace! I am a pillar of justice! I am a blade of faith! In the name of the great Lord... " Roche was shouting at this point as he charged the spirit, Mary glowing with brilliant light, he pressed Mary's barrel flush to the spirit, "HEAVANLY SHOT!" He fired the gun, unleashing all the mana in the gun.

Solaire holds back his arm with his lightning javelin sparking in his grip. "Take caution, miniature equestrian!" he shouted right before hurling the spear in the direction of his intended target. With Twilight circling so close around the rider there was a chance he could accidently hit her instead. He however couldn't hold the spear any longer without risking injury to himself or chance the miracle backfiring on him. He tossed the spear with full strength at the ghastly rider.

Sutan seems to hang in the air from Twilight's magic, her diversion not accomplishing much as the ghostly rider had begun a charge towards Sutan. This gesture finds itself obstructed as Solaire's lightning javelin tears through its arm, causing the lance to fall to the ground and dissipate. Before the rider could form another weapon, Roche's brilliant heavenly shot tears through the ghost, leaving behind only a tiny portion of the rider's horse. The tiny horse halts its charge and proceeds to disappear into the ground.

Oboyo let out a deep sigh as he rose to his feet and reloaded his handgun again. "Whew..nice shot. Did that do it?" he asked, glancing around for the horse that escaped.

Roche smiles and turns, hanging his head, he states, "Now, let us all bow our heads in prayer." He paused for a moment, before continuing. "Dear Lord, please guide this soul from damnation, guide to your heavenly domain, so that its soul may know peace."

Once she sees the ghost rider dissipate, Twilight Sparkle touches down at somewhat of a gallop, sparking and the fade of the glow around Sutan signaling the exhaustion of her magical reserves. "Well... I used up my magic, so that means no teleporting back... I can fly at least one of you back, though."

Solaire blinks and relaxes a bit as the ghost seemed to be vanquished. Even though Roche told him to bow his head in prayer, he didn't bother however. Not out of disrespect, but out of unfamilarity of the traditions of this world. He remains silent throughout the prayer, not making a sound even by moving his rather noisy armor. After all was said and done, he chuckled a bit. "Well that was quite fun, its been a while since I've been able to partake in jolly cooperation like the old days." he said quite pleased. Solaire turned his attention back to Twilights mention of no teleporting back. "Did something happen to the noise contraption of flight we arrived in?" he asked.

Oboyo glanced over towards the Gitmidur, Launchpad cowering inside the cockpit. "Seems fine to me..it's alright, Twilight. The flight back isn't too long. We just need to smack Launchpa--" Oboyo soon found his words interrupted as the remains of the ghostly horse rose up from the ground and flew into him. "aa--hurrk!" he grunted as he dropped his handgun and stumbled about for a bit.
Eventually, he gained control of himself and glanced at the others, bending down for his handgun and proceeding to aim it at Sutan.

Even though she's preparing to fly back, your words earn a raised eyebrow from Twilight Sparkle, causing her to look over and suddenly go wide-eyed at his action before she all but flies at him with her forelegs extended. "Well, alright then... What are y-...oh, no. No, no, no, this is bad! Help me stop him!"

Roche senses something corrupting Oboyo, he looks to see him about to shoot sutan, he pulls a small silver cross out of his pocket, yealling to Solaire, "Grab him, Hodl him still." He began to channel Holy mana into the holy symbol, hoping to excorcise the ghost by himself.

Solaire was caught off guard by the sudden turn of events. "What now? Hold him?" he asked for confirmation before just going with it and lunging forward grabbing hold of Oboyo with a bearhug. "What has gotten into you, friend." he said as he kept his strong hold.

Before Oboyo could pull the trigger, he found himself bearhugged by Solaire and pinned on the front by Twilight. A couple seconds later, his cyan rune glowed brightly as he said to himself, "Guess again, punk!" With a bright flash of cyan colored light, the ghostly horse was launched out of Oboyo's body into a helpless heap on the grass beside them. At long last, the horse's eyes glowed red as it began to speak. "IT IS AS I SUSPECTED. YOU..-KNOW-, DON'T YOU? THAT WHICH AWAITS THIS WORLD."

Roche calmed, his mana dissipating, "let me guess, a lot of undead right." Roche scoffed mumbling to himself. "Where's a radiant servant of Pelor when you need one."

"We know what's coming. And we'll be ready to face it when the day comes." Twilight Sparkle, after recovering a small portion of her magical reserves, turns to the horse with her eyes narrowed.

Solaire looks between everyone. He slightly raises his hand after releasing Oboyo from his grip. "I... admittedly have no idea what is going on."

"I'll tell you. This guy here..is a phantom from the fog ship. A scout, right?" asked Oboyo, glaring icily at the tiny ghost horse. The horse winnied eerily, as if chuckling. "IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT I WILL NOT WITNESS YOUR DEMISE. MY MASTER CANNOT BE DEFEATED BY THAT RUNE. THE LIVING WILL SOON LEARN TO FEAR THE DEAD."

"Then, if the rune Oboyo has isn't enough, my magic will have to be. I didn't become Princess Celestia's best student without learning everything I could about magic." Twilight Sparkle, once she's sure her magical reserves are getting back to normal, conjures a trap around the ghost horse. "Here, death doesn't scare me, and I'm certain my friends in the PDF are unafraid of facing it. Right, Oboyo?"

Roche sighed, "Humans fear the unknown, the process of death is unknown which is unknown, therefore we already fear it." Roche looked to Oboyo, "Ok, I'll bite, what in damnable Hell, is the fog ship."

Solaire got quiet with all this talk about undead. He took a step back and looked up at the sky for a moment before looking down at the ground.

Oboyo glanced to Roche for a second before returning his gaze to the ghostly horse. He'd have to fill him in later..Solaire as well. "Right." he said to Twilight while he raised his handgun and aimed it at the trapped spirit. "This is our world. Your boss is going to learn that when he gets here." With that, he fired a few rounds into the horse, causing it to scream hatefully as it dissipated into thin air.

With a deep sigh, Oboyo put his handgun away and glanced towards Roche, Solaire, Twilight, and Sutan. "Nicely done, everyone..that went pretty well. Maybe Nanaki will be more willing to help us out after he hears what kind of ghost we just dealt with. Think you can help with that, Sutan?" The native grunted deeply, retrieving his spear and walking towards the Gitmidur. "..I'll take that as 'yes', I guess. Come on guys..I'll explain everything on the way back."

With a nod, Twilight Sparkle takes flight, moving with the rest of the group and extinguishing the glow of magic around her horn to keep from using any more. "I think... I'll be joining you all inside the Gitmidur, instead of flying back on my own. And very good job. I'm glad you asked me to be a part of the PDF, Oboyo, back when I was still just a unicorn..."

Roche looked confused, but he simply shrugged, walking towards the Gitmidurr, heading for home.

Solaire nods and follows behind the group, the slight clinks in his armor signaling each step.

"Yeah." said Oboyo, stepping into the Gitmidur last. The helicopter roared to life and lifted off the ground as he said, "Me too."
