The Rabite's Promise - Cafe Patio
A gleaming marble building greets your eyes around this corner of the
suburbs, looking to have been recently established. While not one of the
largest ever built, it stands prominent on its own amidst the rest nearby,
owing in part to the large sign sitting atop a wooden canopy that extends
outward from the business itself. Under this overhang, several chairs and
tables sit as a patio, in front of a couple of sliding-glass windows carved
out of the cafe's front to serve customers; between these windows and above
a single screen door hangs an enameled representation of a furry yellow
animal, shiny in design and reflecting brightly against the sunlight. Two
wooden pillars support the canopy at the furthest corners thereof, and sport
several hooks at varying heights with which people may hang their packs and
take a load off. A separate entrance on one side appears to lead into the
cafe itself, welcoming all who desire it to come indoors. A small corkboard
hangs off to one side upon the cafe's wallface, with a couple of written
messages upon it. A cement path leads eastward, back into the mainstay of
Truce.

Crossroads spent most of the day already getting the cafe set up for its grand opening, which was going to only be in a few days if she had anything to say about it. She stepped outside of the building with a washcloth in one hand and a spray bottle in the other, continuing her cleaning spree outdoors. The layer dust on her clothes and the grey smear on her brow from when she wiped away some sweat earlier was a clear testament to how much work she had accomplished so far today.

Lorastine is helping out the best she can with getting the cafe together with Crossroads. She was wiping down the tables until they practically sparkled, even though they werent ever meant to shine. The hylian was a bit too excited that she was having an actual job again aside for hanging around Crossroads house most of the day when she wasn't wandering about town.

Kyrk comes around from the suburbs, one hand held at his forehead and over his eyes to shield his vision from the overhead sun. In his other hand is held a communication radio, which seems to be broadcasting a light static at the moment. He stops a short distance away, and the look on his face is plainly clear that he wasn't aware of this building's existence before (but then, without being a Truce native, it is highly likely that he isn't aware of many buildings in the area, either). Nevertheless, Kyrk takes a few paces further, intent on not only the building's intent, but also following the sound of peoples' voices as well.

Crossroads starts spraying some of the cleaner onto the windows and wiping them down, cleaning the glass so they were perfectly clear and she could see the inside easily. She was so wrapped up in what she was doing the fact that someone was nearby didn't even register immediately until she heard the sound of static, which admittedly was not a sound she heard all that often. The young woman turned from her work and looked around, eyes quickly falling upon the source. "Kyrk!" She grinned michieviously, giving him a wave with the cloth still in hand "Good timing! Guess who is inside!"

Lorastine looks up from her cleaning when she hears Crossroads shouting to someone. She didn't catch who, but it did make her a bit curious. She put the clothe she used to wipe down tables and stood up straight.

Kyrk stops after a few paces, displacing the comm on his person somewhat before lowering his hand from his eyes. The familiar voice of Crossroads catches his ears before the sight of her does his eyes, and her query only elicits a brief look toward the front door of the establishment, then back at her. "I would say nobody, given the appearance and the fact that you're working so hard on cleaning. What's this all about, if I may ask?" Stiff as always, that cold bastard.

Tyrranis grunts as he readjusts the table he was carrying. This was the first heavy lifting he had done in a while, but it wasn't the weight of the table, the damn thing was just awkward. Still, carrying it above his head, he catches sight of Kyrk's figure standing before the Cafe's entrance. It was good to see him again.

Apparently Kryks powers of deduction still needed some work. "Incorrect." She said with a smirk, "Looks like you lose. Guess you don't get to see Lora today after all." SCrossroads tucked the wash cloth into her pocket and took a couple steps back, looking at the building with a frown, "Lora and I will be running a cafe here soon. Its not looking that bad, is it?"

Lorastine finally hears her name and decides to take a step outside. However right as she does she notices Kyrk standing now infront of the cafe talking to Cross and Tyrranis. Her cheeks turned a slight tint of pink as she waves slightly. "Hi, Kyrk. Long time no see."

Ah, the employment factor. Kyrk'd never thought of them to take up property and start their own, but maybe he should've. Their talents likely expanded beyond vanquishing corrupt entities. He blinks once or twice, allowing his eyes to scan the various aspects of the building. "No, I suppose it isn't. The eagerness you're showing tells me that you're intent on getting things running as soon as possible, so I imagine you've been working hard. That's good to know."

Kyrk looks like he planned on saying something else, but when Lora made her presence known, he stopped. For some reason, anyway. A brief smirk alights on his face, and he nods. "Well, seems like the gang's all here. You guys are all in this together, I take it." He advances a few more paces, boots crunching through a patch of debris as he walks past it.

Tyrranis comes up from behind the group and waits polietly for a few moments to let them chat. Still, this table was annoying to hold. "Crossroads. Where do you want this one?" He shakes the table to indicate that he means it, hoping to ward off any confusion.

"I Spent almost all our money on the place so the sooner we get it open the better." Crossroads nodded. Then she looked up at Tyr with a flicker of worry crossing her face, her eyes looking over the area in seach of an answer for him, "Right there should be good. Are you sure you are all right moving something so heavy, Tyr? I mean, you have healed quite a bit but at the same time you really shouldn't over do it."

Lorastine caught the slight smirk on Kyrk's face when he looked over at her, she couldn't help but feel the blood rushing to her cheeks. She smiled lightly and looked away for a moment to hide the fact. She didn't even know what to say to him other then hello. This was completely unexpected so she thought she would have more time to think of things to talk about with him. "Cross, I think I'm done with the tables over here."

Kyrk looks up again toward the building, almost scrutinizingly. It was then that he remembered what it was he was planning to mention early, before Lorastine caught his attention. "Mollianne and the others contacted me early this morning, by the way. I'll investigate further when I return home, but it seems we have no further cause for worry. It seems... the theory was correct; they found his Soul Gem in a bag, solid gold." Kyrk allows himself a moment to consider this, his face returning to a normal businesslike demeanor. Kyrk continues. "They informed me that, through whatever means, he is somewhere 'in the middle'. A coma of sorts, caught between living and deceased. I assume this to mean that the link between him and his Soul Gem is not completely severed, but it is too weak to allow conscious sustainability. At the moment, they've moved his body, and the bag, back to the house. I'll figure out what to do with it later, as well as a possible rememdy, if one exists, to the situation."

Tyrranis sets the table where Crossroads indicated, and smiles at her. "Do not worry about me. The damage from my fight is almost gone. Besides, " He looks at the group. "I am the largest. Injured, I probably still act as strong as you." He doesn't say it cockily, just as something he believes. Though, when Kyrk mentions what has happened to the fallen wishborn, he frowns. "That is a highly irresponsible thing to do. We we the only people to take the contract and not treat it as nothing?"

Crossroads shoulders sag a little as she listens to you news, but then she shrugs. "Even if you do find a remedy you still have to worry about him turning. And even if you do get a grief seed to him in time he will still do nothing. We'll be faced with the same situation all over again in no time." She walks closer to Tyrranis, wrapping her arms around him, "As for you, even if you are bigger and stronger, you should consider taking more breaks."

Lorastine doesnt really know what everyone else was even talking about with a dormant wishborn or something. One who got disconnected from their soul, but was still alive. "What a horrible fate..." she replies, "But I guess its better then becoming a monster." Lorastine's view on this subject was pretty naive, since she honestly had no deeper details then what she just learned. Being kept out of the loop enjoying a 'normal' life was starting to get to her. She hardly remembered last time she even used her powers.

Kyrk shrugs lightly, unable to really offer a response Tyrranis would probably prefer to hear. "I admire his last-ditch sense of self-preservation, if nothing else. But no, I don't disagree with you. Few people tend to realize the seriousness of the contract they proverbially sign. It is no wonder we are never short on work."

Kyrk looks from Tyrranis to Lorastine for a moment, considering something... but opts to stay quiet on the matter. It was different lives they led, but some embrace it quickly and more easily than others. Nowadays, it was difficult to tell what a 'normal' life even was, anyway. "But yes. I appreciate the help you afforded us with the whole situation, Crossroads. It likely saved us a lot of time."

Tyrranis has already moved on from the conversation mentally, staring between the tables and nudging the one he just brought in to line it up correctly. "Is there anything else you would like me to move Crossroads?"

Again, Crossroads shrugs when she hears Lorastine's comment on the matter. If you had any sense remedy or no, he needed to destroy that gem like he had done to that reploid girl. "Well, its your perogative I suppose. Do what you want. I am sure you have a plan in place." She says to you, and fairly coldly too. Afterall he had practically just brushed everything she had said about the situation aside. She turns her attention back to Tyr, Her voice softening "Not that I can think of at the moment. We've been working pretty hard, I am sure we can all stand to have a bit of a break."

Kyrk looks upon them for a moment longer, and reaches down upon his person to retrieve his com-radio, his expression looking a little conflicted with something. He glances upon Lorastine for a moment, and nods. "I'll be staying at the Inn for a day or two before I get set to head back to Monstro Town. If you have time, come find me, and we'll talk about what's been going on, if you've missed it." He pauses, glancing over his shoulder, then adds, "Otherwise, I'll call you if something else comes around that I need your help with. Before I leave, at the very least, I plan on reassessing the situation in Wutai, to make sure things do not boil over in my absence." Kyrk's tone seems a little uneasy when he states this, but he grasps his radio and prepares to head on back toward the suburbs, perhaps seeming a little out of place amidst everyone else working so hard to get their business up and running.

Tyrranis puts an arm around Crossroads, hugging her lightly for a moment. "If you do not need anything from me, I think I will go fishing soon. It has been a little while since I was in the wilderness."

Crossroads tenses quite a bit when she hears mention of Wutai. She had been doing her best to forget about the incident in Wutai, but in all her efforts to push it out of her mind, the problem was apparently still there. "Yeah." She said to Tyrranis with a slow nod.

Lorastine looks over towards Kyrk and nods as he lets her know where to meet him. "I'll come see you as soon as I'm free to." she says to him giving him a wave.

Lorastine wonders exactly what she had missed around if things were this serious. Although she was looking forward to spending some time with you, even if it was purely business.

Kyrk offers a brief departing wave to the lot of them, before adjusting something on his radio as he heads on toward the suburbs, static filtering away to the sound of what could assumedly be three different girls chattering about something, as he disappears behind a coupld of buildings.

Tyrranis watches Kyrk depart. It seemed silly to wish him goodbye, since he was still going to be in town, so he does not. Instead, he squeezes Crossroads again and smiles at her. "Do you want to come with me? I could teach you how to fish."
