The building stood vacant; doors locked, windows boarded up, paint on
the walls peeling and trash littered the ground outside. The place
wasn't much to look at, but Crossroads was sure this is what she had
seen in her vision. "This is it. When I looked for where I would end
up working in the future this was the place. But...It doesn't look
like it exists yet." She said, wrapping her arms about herself.

Though it wasn’t a habit of hers to stay near abandoned buildings,
Vinyl Scratch's telltale blue mane was partially visible behind one
corner, though she didn’t seem to be moving, aside from the occasional
shift and snoring.

Lorastine looked over the building with her hand to her chin. "Hmm...
Well maybe, we can make it exist." she said looking over at Crossroads
with a reassuring smile. "It could be fun. You never know." The hylian
looked back towards the boarded up building, not exactly sure of the
work required to put into such a project.
.
Even though she was soundly sleeping behind the corner of the
dilapidated building, Vinyl Scratch's right ear flicked of its own
accord toward the conversation, just before she yawned and rose to her
hooves with a sleepy blink from behind her glasses. "...mm." Without
much thought, the wild-haired DJ wandered elsewhere in the town to get
some more sleep.

Crossroads let out a small laugh, "It was some sort of cafe called
Rabite's Promise', I saw a sign out. But I don't really know how to
cook very much." She started walking the length of the building,
looking it over. "You know how to cook though, right?"

Lorastine nodded and smiled, "I'd be insulted if you thought I
couldn't." she replied with a laugh. "It'd work out perfect though! We
could work together in a nice cafe and we'd be our own boss too. I
could cook meals for people and you could be a hostess." Lorastine
started to go off a bit in excitement about the various things they
could have to the cafe.

Despite Lorastine's cheery demeanor, Crossroads' mood didn't seem to
lighten much to match. Instead she just leaned against the wall with
her head down, mulling it over for a moment, "It would be a bit of a
gamble, but the rest of the money I have from the donations could be
used to get this place set up and running at least. Things would
probably be a little tight still for a while. I guess it would make it
easier on us in the long run. Being contracted to Kyuubey often means
we have to leave on a moments notice. Not too many employers look
favorably upon that."

"We'll have other people working with us as well. Being contracted is
difficult but I'm sure everyone will understand if we have to leave on
short notice." Lorastine said trying to lift Cross's mood. To her, the
duties of her contract were more important then making an employer
happy considering it was literally a matter of life and death. "I'm
sure if we explain things, they'll understand."

"Being our own bosses would eliminate much of the problem. If anyone
we employ can't understand our situation then we don't have to employ
them." Crossroads nodded slowly. Like Lora, she also felt that her
duties were important, but keeping a roof over the heads of the people
she cared about was too. "Starting a business will take a lot of money
though." She said with a sigh. She really wasn't sure about giving up
all that money that had been donated to them. But at the same time,
this seemed like a solution to a number of their problems.

Lorastine nodded and looked back towards the building trying to
imagine the Cafe before it was actually made. "We have to spend money
to make money. I'm sure once we get things started, we'll start making
a profit. So enough with the sighing and cheer up! This will be a
great experience and we get to work together. Maybe Tyrranis will help
with construction, he did build your house after all." she explained
with a happy smile.

With a small smile, Crossroads pushed herself off of the wall and
stepped away from the building, "I guess you are right. Maybe Tyr can
even cook sometimes." That thought alone cheered her up some. It had
been a while since she had any of Tyr's cooking "I guess we can do
this. I don't have any experience in running a business but I am sure
I can find some books on the topic somewhere. We'll have a lot of work
on our hands. We'll need a menu too."

"Everything has to start somewhere." Lorastine replied "I can work on
a menu, some light foods like sandwiches, drinks, other things like
that."

"I'll look into what it is going to cost us. I am not too fond of the
idea of giving Tyrranis any heavy labor until I am certain he has
fully recovered so we might be on our own in some of these things."
Crossroads thought for a moment of maybe asking Kyrk. But she didn't
know how long he was staying. That and she felt that it might be
asking too much after all he had done for them recently.

Lorastine nodded, completely forgetting that Tyrranis wasn't in the
best of shape at the moment. However the case she was excited to be
started on something like this. "This is going to be great. I can't
wait for it to be done." The hylian said, ready to be back to working
and making money.

Crossroads continued smiling lightly even though she didn't quite have
the other girls enthusiasm. There was a lot of work to be done, and a
lot of things to get in order. "Yeah." She said flatly, walking to
Lora and turning back for one last look at the place. "By the way,
have you run into Kyrk yet? If you see him before I do, could you tell
him that I am looking for him?"

Lorastine perked up noticeably at the mention of Kyrk's name. "Kyrk is
in Truce?" she asked almost surprised. She hadn’t seen him since they
left Viorar.

"Yeah. He was looking for someone to question apparently. And a few
other things I guess. But I am sure he'd be looking for you too." Her
smile faded slightly, not sure if she should mention that Kyrk ended
up saving her in Wutai. Crossroads wasn't quite up to talking about it
yet, still, she felt as though she needed to say something on the
matter. "Also, I need to tell you and Tyr this; Don't let anyone in or
from Wutai know you are under Kyuubey's contract. got it?"

Lorastine gave her a slight nod and said, "I promise. I won't let
anyone from Wutai know about my contract." She still wasn't sure what
the big deal about it was, but she decided to just leave the subject
alone. A least until Crossroads was in a lighter mood.

"Good." Again Crossroads smiled, but it seemed a bit forced, "Now that
we've had a look at the place I suppose we should head back home? We
have a lot of planning to do if we want to get this whole thing off
the ground."

Lorastine nodded and gave a half smile. She was still a bit concerned
about Wutai now though, but decided it would be a best topic to bring
up later when Cross seemed to be in a lighter mood.
