The whole city was decked out in lights, illuminating the dark city in a rare display seen few times each year. It was the time of Hikari no Matsuri, the Viorar Festival of Lights, and the gates were shut. Synesthesi stood before them, she could see the fairgrounds behind them, walking up to give them a light rattle to see if they would open, but the only thing she succeeded in doing was rousing the gate guard.

"The grounds aren't open." He gave Synesthesi a quick glance before taking on a more friendly tone "Come back tomorrow morning, the festival doesn't start until then."

Synesthesi frowned but nodded, walking a short ways away where she leaned against the side of a building, drawing a map out of her pocket, she began trying to figure out if the town even had an inn.

Taking a moment to breath in the night air, Cerin merely crouches atop a building, shrouded in his dark cloak. Hearing the rustling of gates near below he creeps his way toward the edge of the roofing, taking a moment to listen. That damn fair, bah- Why would he want to go, himself? Too many people, so much attention. Certainly, though, he had a moment of wavering thought. Maybe going to an event would be fun, otherwise it would never attract so many people. He himself knew very little about the situation, so the best option would be to ask. Stepping off the building he merely drops to the ground, his cloak flapping up as he falls, his knees crumpling to cusion the impact.

Standing up, Cerin turns to look at the girl now a few feet next to him. It takes a moment to set in, but he is instantly quite curious about her rather unique, colorful appearance. Offering out his completely normal left hand he pulls his hood back, keeping a straight face. "It's a pleasure to meet you, miss," he begins, keeping the hand out, "I originally dropped to ask about that festival- But how you look, that's a much more interesting topic."

Synesthesi blinked as she looked up at the sound of something landing nearby, her hands moving quickly to fold up the map and stuff it away. She looked at the man suspiciously for a moment, reaching out to offer her own hand as she remembers the guard nearby, and the fact that the streets are fully lit all around "We still haven't exactly met yet. I came here to see the festival, the aurashift I've certainly gotten used to."
As their hands touched, her aura would begin to lightly crawl across to Cerin, the colors beginning to shift along his own hand "I'm called Synesthesi."

Taking a moment to clear his throat, Cerin pulls his hand back after a nice gentle shake, examining the color shift curiously. "Ah, well... I go by Cerin," he says, still examining his hand, "Of course, I wasn't saying you were the one who was interested, was I? I suppose I was rude. How about a drink? Coffee?" Pulling out his metal arm he gently pokes at the discoloration, before looking back up at the girl, raising an eyebrow. What a curious ability.

The colors fade before one hand reaches the other, Synesthesi simply raises an eyebrow, though there is a broad smile on her face "Relax, I was picking on you a little. I have plenty of time for a drink according to the guard" she gestures at the gate and sighs "This perpetual night makes it difficult to tell what time of day it is."

Cerin nods, and pulls his metal arm back under his cloak, dusting himself off a tad. "Right, well, shall we then?" he asks with a smile, offering his left hand out again, "Unfortunately I'm not sure what the tavern serves, but I'm sure it'll taste well enough. At least, I hope so." He begins to walk off, toward the tavern, his hand still open to grasping.

Synesthesi considers the hand for a moment before grasping it and letting Cerin lead her through the city "Don't mind me asking, but how do you navigate this city? It seems almost purposely confusing."

With a smirk Cerin looks back at Synesthesi, holding her hand in a reasonable grip. "Well, once you've navigated a few dungeons, memorizing the layout of cities from a map isn't so hard..." he says, looking up at the buildings, "Especially not if you climb up and get a bird's eye view of the whole, beautiful place..." Clearning his throat, he returns to leading her around, a few twists and turns away.

Synesthesi follows after Cerin, looking at her surroundings as the city passes her by "Yeah, probably. But the cities I'm used to are a bit more square." she focuses her attention on the back of the man in front of her "I never really had a chance to look at it from above..."

Cerin takes a moment to chuckle, making them take a turn, strutting right into the tavern. He releases her hand and sits himself down at a table, tossing a few coins onto the table. "Give us a round of... Whatever she wants," he says, leaning forward to examine her once more, "My treat."

Synesthesi she simply grins and draws out some more coins from her pocket, pointing at the wall, her eyes not leaving the man "That bottle, the glowing one, the whole thing"

Cerin grins widely, and nods at the bartender, who merely blinks a few moments, takes the coin, and sets the bottle down with two shotglasses. "A fine choice," he says, pouring both of them a shot, before drinking his own down, licking his lips, "A strong drink. You must be adventurous."

Synesthesi chuckles and downs her own, taking a moment before letting out a small whistle "It'll do. I figure we can both get a little more out of each other this way..." she arches an eyebrow and her grin grows into a smile "Thats part of what you wanted right? A sated curiosity?"

Giving a slight nod, Cerin pours another two shots, and drinks his down rather quickly. "Yes, I would very much enjoy to know a bit more about... Those colors of yours," he says, leaning in closer, "The way they bleed around... It's a rather curious phenominon, if not beautiful."

Synesthesi takes her shot simultaneously with him, almost like it were a dare "You'll need to supply a story of equal or better value if you want me to spill that." she chuckles and relaxes back in her chair.

Cerin thinks for a moment, sitting back as he pours them another set of shots. He sits there for a moment, tapping his chin, before drinking his shot down, leaning back forward. He sets his metal arm on the table, and with a grin, looks directly into Synesthesi's eyes, asking, "Would you like to know how I lost this arm?"

Synesthesi leans in and looks at the arm, reaching up to tap it "Hm, nicely made, I'm impressed" she swipes her drink up and downs it before setting the shotglass back down "I didn't even notice. Sure, if you think it's a fair trade" she smiles again as she braces her arms on the table, getting into a good position to listen.

smote With a soft breath, Cerin closes his eyes, leaning in a little closer. "I was in some abandoned ruins, searching for a treasure, you see..." he begins, opening his eyes, "The ruins, although uninhabited for years, were crawling with evil spawn- Goons of the evil wizard Ganondorf. They were looking for the same treasure I was, and when I got in their way... They attacked."

Cerin takes a moment to breath, then holds up his arms, making light swings into the air. "They slashed, and stabbed at me- I dodged for my life! Before I knew it, I was surrounded by giant moblins! They're like tall, muscular men with pig-snouts," he explains, before hitting himself in the shoulder of his metal arm, "While I'm fighting back, one of them chops right into my shoulder, slicing clean through. My arm is there, on the floor in front of me. You can imagine, I wouldn't be happy."

"So, I did what any cornered man would do- I fought back," Cerin says, grinning, "I pulled out my crossbow with just my left arm, and BAM! A bolt right between one of their eyes. I didn't have much time left, with all the bleeding, so I dashed off through the now open exit, smacking anything in my way with the bulk of the crossbow. Luckily, I was able to escape and find healing waters... But it was done, my arm was gone."

Cerin sighs, and leans down, before shaking his head a bit, looking up. "But, I did do it. I got the treasure, one handed, and made myself a new arm," he says, pouring two more shots, "So, I believe you owe me something."

She listens with rapt attention to the tale, her colors flowing across her the entire time. Nodding at the end of it and taking up her shot "Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but your story is far better than mine" synesthesi chuckles as she downs the drink and sets down her shot "I had just come back home from a long day at a fair, a whole lot bigger than this one, and its always running, when this strange static energy began to run across every inch of my apartment"

Synesthesi gestures around to show like a wave running along "It was a phenomenon I'd grown used to, it happened every so often, so I wasn't worried. But this time, it didn't go away." she sets her arms down on the table again "The first thing that tipped me off that something was wrong was it should have been night time, but outside was broad daylight."

Synesthesi shrugs and kinda gestures at her arms "Thats when I noticed the static was still clinging to me, and colors were dancing across my body like I'm some kind of lava lamp." she shrugs and leans back "That's really about it...."

Cerin blinks, and raises an eyebrow. "That's... Really it? That's all you know about it?" he asks, drinking down his shot rather quickly, "And here I thought..." He takes a moment to consider the circumstances, and sighs, shrugging a bit. "Well, at least I know one thing about it. Thank you," he says, pouring another shot. Blinking a bit, he begins to wobble a little in his seat, feeling a little tipsy.

"Thats reallly about all I know" Synesthesi gives a small giggle before downing her new shot "probably something about the transfer... who knows, maybe all these years... those years, my house had been trying to come here." she smiles "No magical adventure, no grand danger, no stupendous curse..." she blinks and tries to figure if those were in the right order, but simply shakes her head "those waited until I came here, to this... realm, I guess"

Cerin nods silently, and simply drinks his new shot down, leaning back in his chair. "Want to see who can drink the most of this bottle?" he asks, cracking his neck, "We may need more shotglasses..."

Synesthesi she giggles and grins, drawing out a few coins and pushing them to the center of the table as a tip before tilting her head back to look at the barkeep, smiling goofily "Hey, bring us over some whiskey glasses. This bottle won't take us long.'
