The sound of the Lobstrocity's engine fills the cavern Gforte and Jillian had been in for the past few days, it's roar cutting through all other noises as Gforte pushes it to make it's first few steps since it had been damaged. Heavy footfalls accompany the test run, and Gforte nods, checking a few dials inside the cockpit before marking readings down on a checklist. Apparentally pleased, he shuts it off and climbs out, moving over to a bag. "Oi Jill!" He begins putting tools in the bag while calling out. "We're about ready to leave!"

In a manner of mild interest, perhaps in the notion that she might actually find something of (real) value here, Jillian had been sifting through all the junk while Gforte had been getting his mechination in order. As she expected, though, it was pretty much all scrap, and she all-too-obediently made her presence known when called, still wearing his jacket over her newly-mended sweater. "Well and good, then. Do we have a destination, or are you leaving that to me?" Though she could have easily done so, Jillian didn't throw any tease into her question; it comes off sounding pretty legit.

With the tool bag packed up, Gforte puts it in the mech's open cockpit before scratching at the beard trying it's best to grow on him. "I've got no real ideas on where we should hit up, and that guy hasn't called us yet. So, we're still on the clear path. Any idea where the next shard is?" As if that had reminded him, Gforte returns to a scrap pile nearby, digging out several trashed looking pieces of electronics and setting them in their own small pile.

Jillian raises an eyebrow at the mention of 'that guy', wondering if it'd slipped her mind who he was talking about. Not really willing to take a guess and come off as forgetful, she didn't ask. Instead, she just nods. "Three of them are in Oreyndur Forest. If we backtrack the way we came, quite literally, we'll come across them. An unfortunate episode unfolded within the domain of that boy and his father we met on our way here, and three of the remaining four crystals have been left within the dwelling's ruins." Jillian glanced toward the entrance of the cave, hiding her expression at that moment.

Gforte grunts as he works, before pulling out one last section of circuitry and examining it. "Well, loss gain I suppose. Ruins are easier to loot than an actual home." He picks up the pile of bits and bobs and sets them inside the mech before looking over to Jillian and raising an eyebrow. "Nh. 'm sure the kid is fine." His voice only partially betrays the fact that he suspects the opposite, but he tried. "Well, with any luck we should be able to travel fine. Anything you wanna do before we head out?"

Jillian's eyes scan the area in front of her for a moment, but whatever she appears to be searching for is likely elsewhere, given the distant looking in her red irises. She doesn't respond for several moments as a result, before letting out a sigh, and turns to Gforte, her expression somewhat troubled. "No, I guess not. It just dawned on me that we have not kept tabs on the group we parted ways with, as I assume the 'other guy' you mentioned to be. The soldier we left in his care has... expired." Jillian's displeased reaction to this comes off as a little bizarre, maybe, given that she didn't know her any more than anyone else did.

Gforte doesn't seem terribly put off by this revalation. Instead he shrugs, and hauls himself into the Lobstrocity's cockpit. "Go figure. Well, don't need to keep tabs on them. We've got cell phones for a reason these days." The Lobstrocity roars to life once more, it's systems powering fully up along with it's engine. Gforte's smile is visible even inside the construct. "God it feels good to be a part of metal again." He works the controls, moving each of the mech's arms to test them one last time, before each slam into a pile of scrap, claws collecting large amounts of it. After, Gforte types something on a keyboard, and hidden mechanisms open up a lobstrocity sized hole in the wall of the cave. "Shall we then?"

Jillian watches the crustaceous robot power up, almost seeming for a moment like she were second-guessing herself over something. But without hesitating too long, she hauls herself up one side of the mech, climbing atop of it and finding a decent place to perch. Facing the realization of what may or may not be about to come had apparently changed her demeanor considerably, but it was easy not to think about it when you didn't have to, she realized. "Yes. If we go back the way we came, we should find the cabin's ruins. The crystals won't be difficult to find from there."

A belch of exhaust emenating from the Lobstrocity's whiskers signals the beginning of their journey anew. "Right. Tromp back that way, kick over some trees, find the shards, find the last one, and then figure out how to stop the end of the world we cause. Then maybe these damn nightmares will stop." Gforte blinks for a second, and then curses under his breath. "Forget that."

Jillian looks down toward the cockpit from where she is at the mention of nightmares, whether she could see inside from her perch or not. Nightmares? Did they have something to do with his obsession over.. this? She sighed, and decided not to ask. No doubt she would probably be disturbed by whatever it was he described to her, as an indication of what bits and pieces she already did know about him and his habits. But, all this aside, she had to finish the journey, too. For her own reasons, and to see it with her own eyes, for certain. "I know where the last one is, as well, for the sake of not keeping you guessing. But for now, let's get the other three, and we'll go from there."
