Crossroads was feeling nervous after some of the visions she had last night. Although she wasn't sure if what she saw was truely her and Kyrk fighting, she thought it would be best for her to prepare for that possibility.
So Crossroads sought out you and asked him for some extra training. After all, he was used to fighting.

Tyrranis sits on the bank of the small lake, gazing out into the sky as he can normally be found. Several small animals have found this acceptable, and are currently positioned around the large giganto as well, be it from birds on his shoulders to squirrels digging holes for nuts around him.

Crossroads approached the sight where they had trained last time. The scene that was already waiting for her made her cover her mouth and stifle a giggle. She really hadn't imagined you as the type animals felt comfortable around.

Tyrranis' head cocks to the side as he hears Crossroads approach, and the animals all flee as the man gets to his feet. Turning, Tyrranis gives a vague smile. "You are ready?"

" Ready as I'll ever be." Which was admittedly, not all that ready at all. Magical powers aside, she didn't really feel much confidence in her fighting abilities. But that was basically the reason why Crossroads was here.

Squaring his shoulders, suddenly every sense of 'vauge' about Tyrranis leaves. His eyes sharpen, his stance firms, and his voice returns to what it was during the Witch conflict. "Then we shall spar." He picks up what seems to be a small tree, whittled down into a club, and tosses it to Crossroads. "Take this, and then swing it at me."

Crossroads looks down at the club, gripping it tightly. She steps forward, momentarily hesitating (Could anyone blame her? Even if it was just sparring, you size alone seemed imposing!) Then she sprang forward swinging with all her might at his arm.

Tyrranis looks over Crossroads as she hesitates, and as she springs forwards, Tyrranis also springs, but he leaps backwards into the water. Landing with apparent ease even though the water drags at his feet, the giganto looks at Crossroads with a smile. "Next?"

Crossroads club connects with nothing but air as he leapt out of its reach and into the water. She stares at him for a moment, thinking that If she went after him while he was in the water her movements would be slowed down considerably.

Tyrranis nods, and walks forwards. "Something to learn on. Later though, for now:" Tyrranis swings his bat at Crossroads' skull as his foot hits dry land again.

Crossroads sees the bat coming down at her and she moves, leaping backwards as he had done though not making the same distance. Her reaction was slow though, and she could feel the breeze of the bat as it whooshed passed her head. Far too close for her comfort.

Not wanting to give the gigantos another close call like that, Crossroads quickly rushed forward again, swinging the club low and aiming for his leg.

Tyrranis does not move, instead the giganto elects to let Crossroads' club hit the side of his thigh, eliciting a loud smack. In response, Tyrranis reaches down quickly and tries to wrap his hand around Crossroad's right wrist.

Crossroads looks horrified as the bat connects and she panics. She just hit you! With a club! She was horrified considering how much something like that probably might have hurt him and she starts offering up an apology only to feel your hand wrap around her wrist before she could get the first syllable out.

Tyrranis lifts Crossroads' wrist up and brings his face close to hers. "First actual lession. Cease hesitating. Bullets have spoiled you, all fire and no recourse. Follow your attacks through, understand?"

" Understood." Crossroads nodded.

Tyrranis lets go of Crossroad's wrist, and circles around behind her, rubbing his chin. "Crossroads, tell me of your life before we met. What was your homeland like?"

Crossroads swallowed. Why did he have to ask such a thing? Ever since she got here she had been trying to forget her homeland. " Well..." She looks visibly uncomfortable for a moment, then she suddenly looks at you with a sort of forced annoyance, "What does that have to do with training me?"

Tyrranis looks to her, his eyes piercing. "Homelands make all the difference. It is in the training of the people around you as you grow. If I hand you a club when you can only use a gun, then your training will become stunted."

Crossroads looks down at the ground, " I... wasn't really exposed to a lot of it. The normal people there I mean. It wasn't a part of my duty."

You say ' "Normal people"? You were part of an elite troop?'

Crossroads laughs, "Something like that maybe. Some of us certainly considered ourselves elite." She reaches up brushing a finger through her white hair, " White hair like this isn't exactly normal for someone my age where I come from. White hair is for the elderly. But children born with it, where I come from they are considered wise though this isn't really always the case. And they are made. They don't happen by accident."

Tyrranis frowns deeply. "You are saying that you had absolutely no weapon training as you grew up."

"Archery was popular among us. We didn't have guns. I only discovered those when I came here." Crossroads seems to relax a little as she talks about this, "I didn't have any training with a bow when it came to combat. I know a few of the others did. I knew it only for sport." She grins at you now, " And I wasn't bad at it either!"

Tyrranis hums. "We might bring you back to bows, given your training. Sport and combat are separated by reaction time. If we can train you to react quickly enough, then you'll be able to hit targets."

Crossroads thinks about this. She didn't think switching back to bows wouldn't be too bad. They certainly felt more comfortable in her hands. "Okay..." she says finally. Then she looks up at you, a thought just occuring to her, " What about you? What was your homeland like?"

Tyrranis blinks at Crossroads, and delivers the next line flatly. "I never knew. My first concious memory was bleeding underneath a pile of corpses that constituted the rest of the children in my villiage. The rest of my tribe had also been killed as well."

Crossroads frowned, "I'm sorry." She said quietly. She really didn't mean to bring up an unhappy memory.

Tyrranis shrugs flatly. "It is why the images in the Witch's lair did not affect me. I have seen worse."

Crossroads could only nod. She imagined if she had been through the same, nothing that the witches had in their mazes would bother her either.

You say ' My early life is unimportant Crossroads. We shall find you a bow, and then we shall work on your reaction time.'

Crossroads nodded, though she was still looking a little saddened by what she just learned. "Okay."

Tyrranis nods to Crossroads. "Wait here, I will return with weapons." He turns and leaves the pathway, heading towards town.

Crossroads Waits for him to come back, trying to remember the last time she had held a bow in her hands. It had been a few years at least. She imagined that she would certainly be out of practice.

Tyrranis returns an hour or so later, carrying a small load wrapped up in a blanket. He sets it down gently and rolls the blanket out infront of Crossroads, revealing several many bows of various types lying underneath

By the time you returned Crossroads had found a stump to sit on and had been lost in memories. She smiled when he unrolled the blanket and looked over each of the bows he had brought to her and she knelt down beside them brushing a hand against one that reminded her of the one she used to own.

After a moment she lifts it up for closer inspection. Not exactly like the one she had but close enough. Crossroads drew it, then smiled as she let it down the feeling being very nostalgic . " This will do."

Tyrranis sets a hand on top of Crossroad's head, and then unslings a quiver full of arrows from his back, putting it in front of her. "Use it."

Crossroads took the quiver and secured it to her back, then stood up with the bow in her hand, looking about for a target of some sort. After a moment she hands the bow to you, " Hold this for a second."

Tyrranis nods and accepts the bow, watching Crossroads with an impassive face.

She runs over to where the daisies are and plucks one from the ground. She would have hoped for a larger flower, but she supposed this one would have to do. Next, selected a tree. Crossroads stopped at that point looking around, for a solution to her problem " Need something to hold this here."

You say ' I have nothing to bind it with.'

Crossroads nods, looks at the tree thoughtfully for a moment, then kneels down and pulls out the knife she kept hidden in her boot. With it, she started to cut into an area between pieces of bark to slide the stem through. Probably not the best hold, but luckily there wasn't any wind.

Once satisfied, Crossroads returns to you and grins, taking her bow back. "Alright. Ready?"

Tyrranis releases the bow, and steps to the side of Crossroads, watching the events with a sharp eye.
Crossroads pulls an arrow from her quiver and knocks it. Eyes remaining solidly on the target. She drew the bow, taking a moment to carefully aim, and fired.

A breath of a second later, there was the dull thwak as the arrow struck the tree, one inch to the right of the daisy.

Crossroads frowned. At least she had acknowleged before hand she would be a little rusty.

Tyrranis nods. "That was good. You should keep at it some more though."

Crossroads waited a second, then sellected another arrow from her quiver and shot again. This time it was high. The next time, low, but only by about an inch.

Tyrranis smiles, and pats Crossroads on the back. "Good job. Getting the hang of it again?

" I think so." She says, but then she turns to look at him, wondering if she should ask the question she wanted to. Then eventually Crossroads said "Hey Tyr, if I were to be attacked by someone...Maybe with a lot more experience in this kind of thing... How do you think I would do?"

Tyrranis rubs his chin. "It would depend on how you were attacked really."

Crossroads thinks for a minute. She really didn't want to say much more in the event that she hadn't really been fighting Kyrk in the vision she had. And even if she had seen her fighting Kyrk, she wasn't sure if she should let the gigantos know about it.

"What do you mean?" She asked, hoping that the question would help her get at least some sort of helpful answer.

You say ' Well, if you were attacked by someone like me, who overpowers people in melee, you would probably lose. If you could keep me at range you might win, but you would need to be able to run very far.'

You say ' But if it was someone in a ranged battle with you, I don't know. You might be pretty evenly matched. Like I said, it depends.'

"Oh." Crossroads's soulders sagged a little. Kyrk would probably fall under the catagory of melee. And with that teleportation she saw after he destroyed Lenai's soul, she didn't think keeping distance would be an option. "I see."

Tyrranis raises an eyebrow at Crossroads. "You expect to be fighting many people soon?"

Crossroads shakes her head, "No. Just something I was wondering."

Tyrranis shrugs impassively. "So. This training, you have taken good things from it?"

Crossroads tries put on a smile, "Yes. thank you very much you. You've been a big help." She then looks down at the bow still in her hands, " How much do I owe you for this?"

Tyrranis shakes his head at the girl. "These do not cost anything, they are items I have aquired myself."

"Oh!" Crossroads grips the bow a little, feeling a little sad at the notion that she might have to give it up. " Then I suppose you will be needing this back?

You say ' No. It is yours.'

Crossroads looked down at the bow again smiling. Her hands running over the smooth polished wood limbs. Tears starting to come to her eyes. "Tyr, Thank you! This means a lot to me."

Tyrranis blinks at the emotional woman, and scratches the top of his head. "You... are welcome?"
